After being sold at the slave market in our first scene, Athanasios begins a new chapter of his story.

He arrives at his new home — a breathtaking patrician villa in the heart of Rome. As a newly acquired slave, he's led to the slave quarters, where he meets two very different companions: a young Greek slave, as new to this life as he is, and an imposing, battle-hardened man, likely from the wild lands beyond the Rhine or from Gaul.

Eager to prove his worth, Athanasios throws himself into the household chores — earning quiet gratitude, and a growing closeness, from his Greek companion. Just as the two let their guard down together... a sharp call cuts through the villa. Domina is summoning them. And a Domina is never kept waiting.
