Saskia – Showcase Scene
This scene began with a simple idea:
I wanted to create a space where Saskia could exist.
Not just a lighting setup or pose stage, but a small environment where she could idle, move, and inhabit the world around her.
The setting is a ruined stone arch and a small campfire, perched somewhere high and forgotten beneath a vast night sky. Rain and snow pass through from time to time, though Saskia seems perfectly at ease here.
If the scene feels a little strange or distant, that may be intentional. I like to imagine this view as something seen through a wizard’s scrying spell. Saskia herself isn’t floating in space — she’s simply resting at some ruined watch-post after a long day of scouting the forest.
A Living Scene
By default the scene runs in an ambient idle mode where Saskia relaxes at the camp while the environment shifts subtly around her.
The fire casts warm light across the ruins, the weather changes, and the quiet sounds of the night drift through the air. It’s meant to feel less like a static showcase and more like a small moment of life between journeys.
Some of the systems running in the background include:
• Dynamic firelight – a layered lighting setup combining flicker and subtle motion to simulate fire bounce
• Dynamic weather – fireflies, snowfall, and rain that change the mood of the scene
• Material response – surfaces subtly adjust with the weather so the platform, clothing, and skin react appropriately

Customization
The scene also allows you to explore different variations of Saskia — including alternate looks, outfits, and pose sets.
A Hint of Something Else
Those who spend a little time with Saskia here may notice that the quiet scout resting by the fire has… other sides to her nature.
But some things are better discovered than explained.
VR Experience
This scene is particularly fun to explore in VR.
Standing on the platform beside Saskia, watching the firelight flicker and the weather roll through the ruins gives the space a very different feeling than viewing it from the desktop. The environment was built in a way that holds up well when experienced at full scale.
Recommended Settings
These help the showcase run and look its best:
• 5–6 point lights (required for proper lighting)
• 72 Hz physics update rate
• Physics cap: 1
• Lower MSAA if you need additional performance
