Question How to change a scene from an Automated one to a Manual one?

So I've got a bunch of scenes that I would like to experience manually. A lot of stuff from creators like LDR and Universens who have looping automatic motions to their characters. Is there a way to make these scenes more manual? I'm able to use Embody to set my right controller to be hip movement so I can move the guys hips, but if I don't have the scene set to "freeze animations/sounds" then they're almost always moving automatically, even when I'm supposed to have control over the hips. I want to still hear the sounds from the other character and see facial expressions. Is there a way to keep all this while having full control over the movements? Universens even has a "Manual Play" option in almost all their scenes, but I must not understand how this works cuz even if I hit that button the movements are still automatic.

TLDR; I want to make automatic scenes like stuff made by LDR, be more manual like TGC's Secretary Auditions scene.
Is there a way to do this without freezing animations/sounds and losing any moans or facial expressions?

Hard to say, it really depends on how the scene is constructed. There are a few things you can do though if you have familiarity with a lot of commonly used plugins.

If you use Freeze Motion/Sound and there's still motion going on then it's probably from a plugin like SilverCircler or AutoThruster which you can just disable. If you don't want to use Freeze Motion/Sound, then the alternative is pausing scene animation plus disabling or stopping the Timeline plugin on any atom if it's being used. You could also uncheck "Playback Enabled" on individual controllers of the atom or remove targets from Timeline.

Moans/sounds and facial expressions might be dependent on triggers from scene animation or Timeline in most cases. If that's true you'll have to find a way to substitute or re-create them on your own. VaMMoan could be configured for interactive mode as one way for moans, you could also just use RandomChoice and have it play a random sound with a collision trigger. For facial expressions E-Motion is pretty easy to use, there's also other expression plugins like Silver Expression Tool and Expression Randomizer.

I'd recommend to just experimenting in Edit Mode with your favorite scenes. See how they work and how you can change things, then you can apply that knowledge to other scenes to make changes. Eventually you'll reach the point where you just know what plugins to edit or add to achieve the results you want.

Basically you will just have to add buttons and link the animations/pluging etc. to be activated by those buttons.
