• Hi Guest!

Please be aware that we have released a critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.8 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

Details about the security patch can be found here.
Appearance Loader

Plugins + Scripts Appearance Loader

I got a heavy virt and I want to move selected appearance to a new clean virt. Can I use this plug in?
Unfortunately, I don't think it is possible to operate across multiple vam installation folders.

I found two bugs related to loading CUAs of an appearance from a scene (usually a scene that uses CUAs as hair/accessories)
1. For some scenes, the loaded CUA of an appearance is not ON by default. Had to manually enable it for it to bind to the character
2. For some scenes, only one CUA of an appearance is loaded when there are multiple CUAs

Thanks.

If it's a free scene, I'd like to check it out, so please let me know specifically which scene it is.

I forgot which ones I have tried, but generally any free look with CUA hair/accessories from these authors below would probably reproduce the issue easily (Clussy from wunderwise is a good one for example):

I have confirmed that Wunderwise's Clussy stops loading midway. I apologize for the inconvenience. I will consider countermeasures. It seems that Clussy can be loaded if you use the previous version, ver.16. Please consider using an older version until the issue is resolved.

Got it. Take your time and thank you again for the amazing plugin! :)

ky1001 updated Appearance Loader with a new update entry:

Update (ver.18)

Update (ver.18):
1. There was a problem where CustomUnityAsset with Plugin configured could not be loaded, so I took a countermeasure.
2. There was a bug in loading CustonUnityAsset that was taking a long time, so I fixed it.
3. When loading a new Appearance, the old CustomUnityAsset linked to Person is now deleted. It will not be deleted if "Clear Old Custom Unity Asset" is off.
4. CustomUnityAsset loading position is now better than before.View attachment 448349

It took some time, but I took measures and uploaded it to HUB. Please check if you like.
Works great with couple of scenes I tried. Really appreciate this great update! Will keep you posted if I found any new issue :D

Hi, I've been using this plugin and I have 2 questions:
  1. What is the purpose of the "Select Wait Time" option? I've altered the .cs file to allow me to set it to 0 and appearances from scenes load much faster. Sometimes I have to press "Reload Appearance From Scene" for the second time to load some missing textures (hair for example), but apart from that, I haven't noticed any drawbacks of setting it to 0.
  2. Sometimes, when I load an appearance from the scene (with 'Load Plugin' option off), VAM displays it's security question for me to allow or block the plugin. Can this minor annoyance be addressed or is VAM forcing it to display? Expected behavior would be if the 'Load Plugin' option is not checked, no plugins from scene are loaded.

1) The purpose of "Select Wait Time" is to wait until Hair and Clothing are switched correctly when applied and are ready to accept parameters and textures. However, setting "Select Wait Time" to "5" does not mean waiting 5 seconds every time. "5" seconds is the maximum waiting time, and if the switching is completed before then, the process will proceed to the next one. If it is "0", proceed to the next process without confirming the completion of switching. If you try to pass parameters or textures before switching, the correct settings will not be reflected. Since I want to reflect the settings with one user operation as much as possible, I do not set it to "0", which is likely to cause processing failure. As long as the user understands that they will need to press the button multiple times, they are free to set it to ``0'' at their own discretion.
2) If "Load Plugin" is off, Person's plugin should be ignored. However, when CUA is loaded, the CUA plug-in is automatically loaded, so that may be the reason.

Bug fix

Update (ver.19):
When loading an Appearance from a scene, a PluginPreset file is no longer created even if "Load Plugin" is turned on. Since PluginPreset is unnecessary in ver.17 and ver.18, I intended to not save PluginPreset, but the fix was omitted. very sorry. If a file starting with "Preset_pluginPreset_by_AppearanceLoader_" is created in the "Custom\Atom\Person\Plugins" folder, please delete it if you do not need it.

@ky1001 I've recently had the issue that, when I apply custom textures (e.g. a skin preset), and then load an appearance using the plugin with "Textures" unchecked, the custom textures are removed.

Not sure in which version this started though, sorry. Has been like this at least a couple of weeks, possibly months. Would be great if you could look into this. Happy to investigate a bit if you can't reproduce the issue.

I apologize for any inconvenience caused. This was caused by the Skin Select switching unintentionally. The problem probably occurs after ver.17. I didn't expect that Skin Select would change when "Change Mouth" was on. I will investigate the cause, but it may take some time to find a solution.
If you wish to turn off "Change Textures" until a countermeasure is taken, please turn off "Change Mouth" at the same time.

No worries, just two or three additional clicks ;) Thank you for looking into this. I will try turning off "change mouth" in the meantime.
