When I click "Use Current Pose" in the pose tab, nothing happens. Has anyone experienced this?
Wanted to come back and share my findings. It seems like my problem was using VRDollz's "Static Piercing Belly". Went through a whole process of trial and that seems to be the one thing that prevents me from using the "Use Current Pose" feature. Can't say for sure if it's an issue with the item itself or the plugins it relies on.

Could you please tell me how the “Next Segment” works?
I am using 2 buttons:
1 - Play Segmrent A
2 - Next Segment

When I press 1 -> 2 - Segment does not change.
Or does this button perform a different function?

From what I understand, changing the segments doesn't work properly, and this consequently renders other actions useless.
 
When I use built-in triggers to create sound effects, if the animation automatically switches, it will repeatedly produce sound
 
Is there a way to use timeline like a state machine? For example, to get to anim 5 from anim 1 you could define a path of animations to flow through for example Anim 1 -> Anim 2 -> Anim 4 -> Anim 5.

Yes, recently I have been experiencing similar problems with the pose tab not working on some atoms. I know the save file has been corrupted somehow and I can't figure out how to fix it without rebuilding the scene from scratch. i have been using 283 for a long time now and I have never had issues like this before. Could online updates be happening that we are not aware of?
 
Hello! I'm hoping this is the right place to post but I need help.

I've spent literally hours trying to find someone with the same problem and finally gave in and made an account.

I for some reason can not save a pose under the pose tab in Timeline. The buttons to "use current pose" and "copy current pose" aren't greyed out, but both do absolutely nothing. Sometimes if I load a default scene to test it out it'll work fine but the minute I load up one of my scenes it stops working, including if I make a new scene afterwards to test again (after having it not work in my scene)

Any insight would be lovely as I've run out of ideas for trouble shooting.

Glad you found a solution. I'm not using that but still experiencing this issue unfortunately

Thanks to @zeinaheart7 i Found the issue at my end, and it was the "static head scrunchie by VRDOLLZ" which uses custom plugins for clothing. So check if you have any clothing items that use custom plugins.

Turns out a static jewelry by VRDollz was the issue for me as well. I had to remove the offending item, save, and then reboot the game. Hope this gets patched at some point if possible!
 
This was the same issue for me, could not copy/save/apply poses in Timeline. Removed the Nurse Tag Static and restarted, works now. Thanks!

Huge thanks to Acid Bubbles for this amazing plugin. You made Vam into far more than just a curiosity.

I've been using timeline for a while now and searched the documentation, but I can't quite figure this one out.
Say I have:

-1 segment with 2 layers (main and hands for instance)
-animations in groups (main1/1 main1/2 hands1/1 hands1/2 etc.)
-animations are looped and their sequences are set via main1/*

Now say some hand gestures fit into main1/1 but not main1/2. Can I somehow set exceptions on the randomness or am I always dependent on the slave/not slave mechanic?
To put it another way, can I specify which hands1 triggers with which main1?

Doesn't seem possible, but it would be awesome to have something like that.
It would allow for a lot of variety in animations without having a million sub-animations on groups with the variety built-in.

In the sequence tab you can turn off "auto play on load". 2nd option from the top.
You probably have that ticked on your animation 2.

There is a bug I don't know if you are aware of.
When you click on ''remove target'' it deletes ''audio trigger'' targets too. Even though it is not selected.

Checking the target tab it shows only the ''head'' as selected.

Hello ! How do I avoid that the atom moves back to the first pose even though loop is deactivated ? At the end of the timeline the pose should be kept and it should not jump back to the initial pose. Thank you !
 
After creating an animation, "detaching" and "moving" the "root" of the character seems to completely break the animation.

IS there a way to fix it?
As in fix the animation retaining the new position of the root?

Potential bug when using the controller parenting TL?

When pressing stop any parented controllers are not returning to their original key framed position. This happens each time stop is pressed or when switching back and forth between animations. It happens with"Always on parenting" on or off.
 
Hi, does anyone know how to make it work? NextAnimation and NextLayer are working fine, but NextSegment (and PreviousSegment) are not working and can't be triggered. Test button does not work either. I created a clean scene and added 2 UIButtons with triggers. Then created 2 simple segments with pose only. When I click the buttons, they do not switch segments. I tested it with other scenes too.

I know that Next/Previous Segment option has been added in the latest update, may be it is broken?

I tried to make it another way - using Logic Bricks, but it is a pain, I have to add every single segment to the brick and if I want to switch animations set, I have to change all the bricks again.

You do not detach the root node from the character to move root node. Here's how I move the root node alone:




Remember that all active controls on the atom have to be included in Timeline. For example, if you have a pelvis atom active on the atom and it is not present on the Timeline, moving root node my way is going to break animation. You just have to add those nodes to Timeline (using Target tab) and apply Pose in Timeline. Then you can procees with the procedure.
