• Hi Guest!

Please be aware that we have released another critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.12 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

Details about the security patch can be found here.
Post Processing

Plugins + Scripts Post Processing

I'm trying the plugin for the first time and I do like it. But I have some issue's with the plugin. When I use version 7, the plugin works as as intented. But soon when I switch to screenshot mode, none of the post processing isn't being recognised. When I make a screenshot, it looks like the plugin is turned off. I do have the same issue when I'm using the Supershot plugin.

So, i've tried the Beta 3 version, with the advanced screenshot tab. This plugin also works as intented and if I make a screenshot, the post processing is being recgonised, except the depth of field. Depth of field isn't working in screenshot mode aswell in supershot plugin. It just doesn't show up on the screenshots.
Maybe it's why it doesn't work with VR Renderer plugin. With newest version I couldn't get it to work, but with v6 everything seems to work for me. Maybe because newest version does things differently overall.

No idea, I don't use VR renderer plugin. I just don't get it why the post processing effects doesn't show on my screenshots.

GPU I'm using is a RTX 4080.

I've got an issue where loading the plugin just makes my screen violently shake. It's not an anti-aliasing VR issue where it just splits the screen, but everything just shakes violently upon any headset movement.

i have the exact same issue, thought i was crazy cause no one else had said anything about it. only affects vr

I also have the same issue with the screen shaking in vr. Although, one time I was able to get it to work but I don't know how?

@moyashi when I use the atom UItext or UIimage in combination with the PostProcessing beta 3 plugin, VaM immediately crashes. When I remove UItext or UIimage, the crash is gone.

Maybe someone knows how to make this plugin work with VR Renderer plugin? Coz' VR renderer doesn't capture effects of pos processing.

It should work if you use version 6 of Post Processing, as I mentioned few replies above. In VR Renderer you have to check boxes to enable buffer effects.

I'm using last version of post processing. In VRRenderer i'v checked box Use buffer commands and use post processing effects. Nothing. Still no post processing.

As I said, you need Post Processing version 6 if you want to use it with VR Renderer. Version 7 doesn't work.

Does anyone know a good way to turn this on and off via trigger? Disabling the plugin doesn't seem to change anything. I could only go back to default colors if it is removed completely from the scene plugins.

Use a preset without the plugin : )

@moyashi

great plugin! i have found an issue, where using both your postprocessing and passenger + improved POV or using embody, causes the hide face / head / hair to not function properly

Same issue here. Moyashi has not connected since almost a year. We probably won't have a fix soon (or ever).

This is a few months old I am aware, but I've found workarounds for this issue if you or anybody else is ever interested.

Since using Embody Passenger with the @moyashi Post Processing plugin still shows the face, hair, etc, even when Hide Geometry is enabled I spent awhile figuring out a way around it. The way I'm doing that works is a fair amount more effort depending on your use case.

Simple Use
1. Download the GoingGoingGone plugin, add it to your person of choice.
2. Hide the entire head and the neck in the upper body section.

3. Remove any headwear, hair, etc, from the person you're going to posses. (Hair and clothing will still show otherwise)
4. Activate your Embody Passenger.

This should mimic the Hide Geometry function from Passenger. But if you want to be able to toggle it on and off the same way it worked with Embody Passenger - you're going to need to do a little legwork.

You will need to setup some kind trigger (a UI button, etc) to actually enable and disable the POV mode. When you Activate Passenger via trigger (your UI button), you're also going to want to enable the GoingGoingGone plugin in the same trigger. This will hide the head and neck when Embody is activated. Alongside this you want to enable Hide Material in the receiver of any headwear to also hide that.

If you have hair on your character, you can also hide this. We do this by setting the curveDensity and hairMultiplier to their lowest values in the Sim receiver of your hair, this basically just hides the hair.

Once you've set up the activating of Embody, you will have to do it all again but set it up opposite to itself. So deactivate the GoingGoingGone plugin, disable Hide Materials and set the curveDensity and hairMultiplier back to your desired values. This will show the head, headwear and hairs again.

It's a fair amount more hassle than having Embody just do it for you, but it works.
