Hello! I was having a same issue as folks above with "explosion", but i was using a 4.3 (latest i assume) version of Blender. Then i download 3.3 (blender-3.3.0-windows-x64) and it worked like a charm.
If that matter blender-3.3.0-windows-x64 version was not installed but is a standalone version, i don`t know if that information is useful.

Checked on blender-3.3.0-windows-x64 on the version without installer. Doesn't work.

I will clarify the tutorial on the Daz export, I have not changed my settings in sometime and overlooked it.

1. The bit of script that hooks blenders selection change is probably broken due to my piss poor python skills. So the button isn't evaluating selection changes.
3. We need to make sure Blender Keeps vertex order so I will clarify that in the tutorial.

This is still a very early version, that uses a generic vertex based movement across the entire mesh. So each vertex is moved individually.

Still TODO:
  • I have plans on moving the eyes and mouth as group based approach.
So it will move the entire eye as a unit then attempt to match the scale and position of the targets eyes. Basically automating the "reset eyes and reposition" workflow. This should avoid all the distortion issues currently and the mouth collider issues, but is still incomplete.
  • Add a relax or mesh smoothing/Laplacian smoothing modifier to the final mesh which helps resquare the mesh.
  • Better mesh conformity data for calculating neighbors.
  • Using multiple neighbors when calculating the output position of the vertex. Currently only nearest neighbor is used
I really appreciate your detailed workflow

just a heads up, Keep Vertex Order on import of OBJ is not an option on the latest Blender 4.3.
I am installed 3.6 and that works, HOWEVER, after successfully converting it and then trying to bring it back into DAZ.
I am able to load the object, but when i try using Morph Loader Pro i get the message No MORPHS to LOAD.

Also the main thing i want to do is export only the head morphs. i don't care about the body.
Is there a way to create a morph for just the head?

What's the file size of your exported .obj from Blender?
Sounds like you may not have selected the model in Blender before exporting.
Note: you won't see the 'Keep Vertex Order' option if you use the Daz Generations export button instead of File/Export, but it should still preserve vert orders.

For head only - you can use morph merge and split plugin once you've brought the morph into Vam.

Ok so i completely started over, I did this AND tried2 different OBJ exports from Blender, 1 using the Export OBJ button and another using file>export>obj legacy

Both exports will load fine in DAZ except that the "Export OBJ" file is 1mb smaller?!?
Neither worked for Morph Loader, when clicking morph loader, it won't even do anything until i have my imported OBJ highlighted.
The imports LOOK fine but will say NO MORPHS TO LOAD

Is there something wrong with my Morph Loader setup?
I tried using morph loader on Stock G3/G8/G9 and characters like Karen 7 , Victoria 7 and STILL the same message.
What am i doing wrong here?

Have you been doing this....
Load an empty scene in daz, load up the genesis model your new morph is for, set mesh resolution to base.
Fire up Morph Loader Pro
Then have you been clicking on 'choose morph files' and pointing it to your exported .obj file from Blender?
Not so clear from your screenies

That was it!
OMG so frustrating, and i didn't notice that in the workflow
Now where do i find this morph so that i can place it in VAM?

You'll find it under Morphs/Morph Loader by default
Click on the Parameters Tab
Click Morph Loader
Click on the cog for the morph and choose parameter settings
You'll see the file location - dependent on where you saved it as a support asset

Thanks, i was able to FIND and import it into VAM, but i noticed that it says it has bone morphs and to be honest, i ONLY want the face anyways.
Is there any way to fix this?
Animations will sometimes throw the head into convulsions.

I used Morph merge and split to make the head morph but it still shows the head morph as having bone morphs. and some occasional animation glitches.

REALLY strange but i was able to successfully convert 2 characters in blender to G2 but NOW it isn't even giving me the option to do the conversion.
i tried even installing another portable version of blender LTS and the plugin but can't do it.
I even tried the ones that i was able to successfully do already but the button doesn't light up to convert!

kinda weird character body morph after converted doesnt look like original, breasts, hips, belly even belly button. I did with G8 morph to G2. Any idea how can I fix this?

For G3/8 conversions with this tool you also need to apply a clone morph to Genesis 2 along with your conversion morph.
Daz already includes clone morphs - though they are hidden by default.
A Genesis 3 clone morph can be used for both G3 or G8 conversions

G9 conversions don't require a clone morph as they use a different process

ICannotDie has a good set of clone morphs. You can drop the G3F Clone from the Genesis 2 folder into your VAM female morphs folder

Hm, I dont get this? so I install the file and fit g2 base to a g8 morph?
is this straight up https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/import-genesis-8-character-only-morph-to-vam-with-pictures.6260/ ?

The step 14 (save as Morph asset) is deprecated in DAZ Studio 4.23, and tells us to use Modifier asset instead.

What settings should we use in this one ?
Probably the morph under Genesis 8 Female -> Morphs -> Morph Loader, right ?
If my morph affect the overall body size, should I also tick all the bones ? (the auto adapt rigging thing moved it quite a lot)

Don't you mean we should drop the morph inside daz3d library folder ?
I don't think vam can read .dsf anyway

Are we supposed to use this morph to correct the conversion, inside daz3d before making our converted morph, or in vam before exporting our original (merged) morph ?
Or use it afterward in vam with our converted morph ?

In my case I can't even see them in daz3d, and I think they are only for clothes, not body...

In my case I'm converting (obscure) vam1 morphs to G8F for vam2
I went from .vmb/.vmi to obj to corrected-to-G8F obj, then imported into daz3d to make them as morph, and got G8F .dsf files (that should work in vam2 in the future)
But I also saw the waist line to be larger than how the G2F morph look (for a morph that alter the body shape and height)

Vam converts .dsf files (ie morphs) to .vmi and .vmb. It scans at launch and any missing .vmi/.vmb files are created from the .dsf
The vam to daz converter you used just converts them back to .dsf again.

You can either add a genesis 3 clone morph for G2 into your vam morph folders
Or you can apply the clone morph in daz along with your conversion morph and create a new combined morph to send to vam - the first option is easier though.

Waist line is larger for your new G8 for the exact same reason as above. You also need to apply a G2 clone morph to G8.
G2's body is slimmer than G8

You can of course use other morphs in vam to try and replicate what the clone morphs are doing. That's easy for the body, but a bit harder to get right for the head.
