[Experimental] Volumetric Global Illumination

Plugins + Scripts [Experimental] Volumetric Global Illumination

Download [1.35 MB]
An initial attempt at importing SEGI global illumination into VAM. All credits go to SonicEther.

This project hasn't been updated in ages, so I doubt I'll get it to perform better than it currently does. The upside is that it runs on VAM's ancient version of Unity.

Getting it to look good takes a good bit of tinkering. I'll add documentation for what the settings do when I figure them out. Feel free to post your own findings!

Usage
  1. Add to an Invisible Light
  2. Set it to Directional mode
  3. Configure

Really cool experiment! Wonder if VAM 2 will have some kind of out of box GI solution. This looks like a lot of effort put in considering its on ancient Unity 2018 tech

There seem to be a number of nice lighting frameworks available in newer versions of Unity. If VAM2 doesn't them, I might add them in via plugin provided the licensing isn't too expensive.

Not sure what's going on but this plugin makes Reshade work with directional lights now. Incredible.
