I just uploaded a new var file as a Free Plugin type, with a CC-BY license (https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/tracker-controller.40492/).

However, it is now behaving strangely in the hub. The Hub shows a "null" license, despite the manifest clearly listing a CC-BY license.

It also doesn't show up in the in-VAM hub default view. It shows up if I change "Pay Type" filter from "Free" to "All", and then it oddly even sticks around if I change that filter back to "Free". It even stays visible if I hit "Refresh". If I hit "Reset Filters", though, which changes the "Pay Type" back to "Free" it then disappears again.

Is this a bug in the Hub, or is there something I can do to fix up my resource and its settings?

I reported the free/not-free issue as a bug, but they're not going to fix it. How your resource ended up with that license, I don't know.

Ashauryn has been doing a lot of work on the Hub, so it's probably a result of that. I've let him know about the problem (if he hasn't already seen your post).

For future reference, hub issues like this are best posted in the "Hub Feedback" forum channel.

To clarify what @SlimerJSpud said, the "pay type" filter may be an in-game browser issue which may not get priority attention because if so, it would require an update to VaM 1.x. However, if it is an issue that can be fixed without a VaM update, it will be fixed.

To clarify something @DJ said, the issues you're experiencing may or may not be related to recent updates and fixes to the Hub. We do investigate all bug reports and will let you know what we find out! Thanks for the report!

The issue appears to be that your "description" in the var package is too long. I will see if we can add some additional error messages to let users know about issues like this when the file is uploaded to the Hub.

It may be better to put this detailed information in the description of your resource on the Hub, rather than in the package itself.

Maybe one alternative you could try is to post this information on your profile, and then link to that post in the "description" of your var when you are packaging it.

Code:
"description" : "This plugin automates settings on Atoms to toggle whether a Tracker is controlling them, such as to quickly toggle a tracker on your waist that controls the movement of a person's pelvis or hips, or a tracker on the end of a Fleshlight that controls the movement of a person's head (both at the same time is often a great setup).\r\n\r\nYou can do this all manually through VAM UI, but it's a bit of a pain to manage while you're trying to enjoy or work on a scene, as opening the UI forces an exit of Embody by default, and exiting Embody causes the physics simulation to freak out if the trackers have an active physics link, due to the camera position popping away. Additionally, VAM intentionally doesn't load linkage values for the \"Link to Atom\" or \"Link To\" values, such that you can't load a scene and have it start off all linked up. So, without this plugin, you always have to dive into the Atom's controllers' UI settings to relink them to your trackers.\r\n\r\nThis plugin is inherently based around voice controls due to the intention for utilizing it while using Embody. You can simply say key phrases like \"Control Her Head\", \"Stop Controlling Her Head\", \"Control His Pelvis\", and so on to easily toggle when you want to control various Atom controllers via designated Trackers.\r\n\r\nI've also added Atom choices such as \"<Auto> Female\", \"<Auto> Male\", or \"<Auto> Dildo\", where the plugin will search within the scene for the first matching Atom and use that. This allows for using this plugin as a session plugin where it generally works out of the box for most scenes with a man an a woman. If you have multiple males or females in a scene, or simply wish to control other Atoms, you may configure this plugin to do that by using the Atom choosers in the plugin's UI.\r\n\r\nThe speech recognition recognized phrases to start and stop controlling are displayed for each Atom-Tracker pairing. You may edit these as you see fit, even using shared phrases across more than one Atom-Tracker pairing, such as using \"Stop Controlling Her\" on multiple pairings controlling her head, pelvis, etc.\r\n\r\nNote that I've configured the plugin to handle up to four Atom-Tracker pairings, as that's all I typically need for my purposes, and that's also all that easily fits in the UI without scrolling. I may increase that, such as up to 8, if there's enough interest. Otherwise, you should be able to just add another instance of the plugin for additional Atom-Tracker pairings.\r\n\r\n\r\nAdditional Optional Setup\r\n-------------------------\r\n\r\nIf you'd like to use a Fleshlight to control Atoms in VAM, I highly recommend printing out an \"End Cap with Vive Tracker Adapter\". Here are some links to get you on that path, but the basic idea is just a replacement cap for a Fleshlight that has a bolt hole so you can connect the tracker to that end cap.\r\nhttps://www.reddit.com/r/VAMscenes/comments/knfbxb/fleshlight_end_cap_with_vive_tracker_adapter/\r\nhttps://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4701786\r\n\r\nI also recommend a belt to attach a tracker to your waist, mainly for controlling an Atom's pelvis or a toy such as a dildo. You can purchase tracker belts and wrist/ankle straps many places, including Amazon, so just search around for a good deal on those. I only really use the waist strap for VAM, but they tend to come as a set, and sometimes ankle trackers and such can be useful.\r\n\r\nI see there's a plugin from VRStudy called \"LabelTrackers\" that looks like it should help you visualize the designation of each tracker inside VAM's 3D view. I haven't used it, so I can't vouch for it, but that may help if you need to trouble shoot any issues.\r\nhttps://hub.virtamate.com/resources/labeltrackers.1464/\r\n\r\n\r\nHow to set up Vive trackers for use in VAM\r\n------------------------------------------\r\nSteam VR Settings\r\n1) Lauch Steam VR.\r\n2) Select \"Steam VR settings\"\r\n3) Select \"Manage Trackers\"\r\n4) Assign Trackers to \"Left Foot\" through \"Keyboard\", as VAM's indexing starts with 1 at \"Left Foot\" and only supports up to an index of 8 at \"Keyboard\". I recommend just using \"Left Foot\" [1] and \"Right Foot\" [2] if you only have two trackers (not counting the standard two hand controllers). These designations don't really mean anything to VAM other than the number; the fact that you're picking \"Feet\" is irrelevant.\r\n2) Restart Steam VR.\r\n\r\n\r\nManual Process for Starting and Stopping Tracker Control of an Atom (what this plugin automates)\r\n------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\r\nTo start tracker controlling Atom:\r\nVirtaMate\r\n1) Inside VAM, in person's pelvis control tab (or head, dildo, etc.), set a link to Atom: \"Camera Control\", Link to: \"Tracker1\" (if you set \"Left Foot\" in step 1).\r\n2) Set Physics Link for Rotation (first to avoid spinning - could probably freeze simulation first alternatively).\r\n3) Set Physics link for Position.\r\n4) Atom should now conform to tracker pos and orient.\r\n\r\nTo stop tracker from controlling Atom:\r\nVirtaMate\r\n1) Set Position of Atom back to whatever it was before you set it to \"Physics Link\" (such as \"On\", \"Comply\", \"Off\", etc.).\r\n2) Set Rotation of Atom back to whatever it was before you set it to \"Physics Link\" (such as \"On\", \"Comply\", \"Off\", etc.).\r\n3) Atom should no longer conform to tracker pos and orient.",

The maximum number of characters allowed in the description is 4096. It looks like your description contains around 5400. This is the reason there are errors with your resource. You will need to shorten the description and upload a new version.
