Quest 3 Passthrough + Recording

Guides Quest 3 Passthrough + Recording

I have a 4090 and a 7900x. I swear I had this working 6 months ago, but when I try it now I get like 1 frame every 3 seconds, it basically freezes up my entire rig.

Nevermind, figured it out. Missed the step about a custom batch file to launch it. Bypassing SteamVR fixed it. The wife's going to wear it tonight, she wants a girl watching her while... ya know :)

"Load your scene (prefer empty scene with just your person atoms and lights applied for pure passthrough experience of your models in your real environment or remove CUA’s and such for existing scenes)"

Would you mind showing us an example of taking an exisiting scene and "removing CUA's and such" for those of us non-creators?

You just open the scenes content and remove everything which is visible in the scene, just leaving the character.
You have to be on the Creator tier I think to do this, not quite sure.
Here's an example:

Hi Saint66, thanks for your guide.
I have a quest3 (v69) + 3090 and classic 5G router (between 500-800Mbps).
Start VAM without SteamVR (using batch file)
All look fine in pass-through, all items stay in place (with little jitter). I can move around and they stay in place
But when I record video with the Quest3, the result shows that items are "moving" when my head move, and the scale is not correct as when viewing in headset.

Is there some settings I missed in VD or in quest 3 ?
Perhaps it's better to record on the PC (need to mirroring to PC) with OBS ?
Thanks

That sounds most likely a like a Q3 performance issue or a not ideal wifi setup.
I use a dedicated Wifi 6 router exclusive for the Q3, so the network is not congested with my other millions of wifi devices.

Try a fiddling around with your Quest's video recording settings (Settings -> Systems -> Camera I think).
Also, try some lower VD streaming settings (don't use godlike on anything below a 4090), even with my 4090 I choose one quality level below.

But my main guess is, it's your wifi to/from your Quest...

Anyone know how to stop the game menu from popping up when youre using hand tracking? If I make like a pinching or grabbing motion when my hand is upright it opens the menu in play mode. I hate it and I have to pinch or do a grab motion to close it.
