• Happy Holidays Guest!

We want to announce that we will be working at reduced staffing for the holidays. Specifically Monday the 23rd until Jan 2nd.

This will affect approval queue times and responses to support tickets. Please adjust your plans accordingly and enjoy yourselves this holiday season!

  • Hi Guest!

Please be aware that we have released a critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.7 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

Details about the security patch can be found here.

Performance Patch (up to 30% more physics speed)

Has anyone tried testing this on 4k or VR with higher res?? When we are GPU bound does this make any difference?? I play VaM at 4k on desktop mode with super sampling set to 2x and VR on 3712x1984 or 4128x2208 on quest 3 with supersampling set to 2x. I get steady 45 fps on VR on most demanding scenes.
I dont really see any significant difference with HT on or off or with patch 10 or 12.
My HW is i7 13700k + 4080 + 64GB.

If anyone has tested on intel hardware on 4k or higher res and have gained some fps, could you please post your patch version and ini config?
That would be of great help.

if you run your quest3 at 90hz, have motion smoothing on and have between 45fps and 89fps, you will get 45fps, no matter what. When motion smoothing is enabled, the oculus driver forces the frames to wait until it settles at 45fps.
If this is what happened for you, you should clearly see it in the benchmarks:

Here I am capped at my HMD refresh rate (90fps without motion smoothing, would be 45fps with motion smoothing or jump between 45 and 90 if I had adaptive motion smoothing). My average TotalTime was 5ms, which translates to 1000/5 = 200fps, so my game would render at 200fps if my HMD driver wouldnt force it to wait. This means I could run this benchmark at 200fps(!) in VR with a better HMD. (Ignore the max1% values, these are rounding errors)

Here I am truly not reaching more than 74fps, TotalTime was 12.22ms, which translates to 1000/12.22 = 81fps which is in the ballpark of 74fps, probably a few frames lost due to reprojection by steamvr.

I Have this: AMD EPYC 7543P 32-Core Processor 2.80 GHz
( Shadow PC) What settings should I have?

No improvement for me (>_<).
Yet some have impressive gains

Anyone have any advice please ?
Thanks in advance
