Official New Hub Changes Mega Thread

Could we have a button that disables widescreen mode? Those of us with large screens suffer a bit as we have to travel quite large distances with the mouse. Usually in XenForo themes there is a mode that keeps everything more centered on the screen, something like that I would like.

Netflix is a good example of how i personally would have went about the home page with emphasis on the "Hub" (hub.virtamate.com) / community link being pretty prominent with minimal teaser content but thats just me. heres a comparison of mobile browsing between netflix and vam. pc browsing isn't much better either. check the size of the scroll bars. as it stands it doesn't work well at showcasing resources or vam

virtamate.com:

netflix

of course these are the teams decisions and i only offer my feedback.

filters now working but the whole filter/view area is floating always in view, is that intentional ? it feels a little intrusive.

thumbnail/info container also breaking out of their containers/background. see screenshot

thanks again for all the hard work.

We went with the "view content immediately" on the landing page mainly because that's what long time users of the Hub are used to, as the landing page used to go straight to "Free Resources".

The new landing page is meant as a showcase for new visitors, while also providing some value for existing members by giving some carefully crafted queries which you can read about in the original post in this thread.

The incorrect view on mobile is a result of our update process. While CSS changes can be made immediately, more complex changes require a git commit that requires two admins. If one admin is unavailable, the commit can take some time.

Fortunately, we updated the site this morning and the following fixes have been applied:

- You can now choose your preferred landing page by navigating to Account -> Preferences as seen in the screenshot

- Paid/Free filter in filters menu now fixed

- Category and Filter buttons now available while scrolling on mobile and desktop, mobile buttons collapse during scroll

I do see that there is still some issue with resources breaking out of their box on mobile. Will address shortly.

You can change your style selection in Account -> Preferences, or by selecting in the footer menu.

Switching this to "Bikini Girl" will reduce the max width.

Also, most page templates (Forums, for example) have a similar max width even in widescreen. But yes, the navigation menus due stretch full width for wide screens.

I noticed the compact view dropdown menus are blank also. Not sure if it's to be like that at that size.

All of these are good suggestions. # 1, 2, 4 we will fix. #3 Likes should be visible along with views and downloads in the resource meta information.
#5 - is this the in-game browser? It's possibly due to the fact that Chromium is outdated and there's not much I can do. Any chance you could give me the specific browser and version so I can try?
Yeah for #5 wasn't the in game browser. I went to the website on Microsoft Edge version 132. Monitor is 4K res with 200% scaling.
