Hello,

I'm working on a scene with two person atoms. Everything was fine, until I loaded a pause on one of the atoms to create a new Timeline animation. Since then, whenever that atom is on screen, I run at 10 fps, even if it's the only person atom in the scene. What bug is it? Has somebody gone though that in the past?

Thanks in advance for your help. My scene took me a lot of time to get to its current state, and I don't want to start over...

Nope. Hard reset, load your scene, reload your pose : )
I'll try that. But I already tried to reload the scene, after restarting VAM. Whenever that person atom is here, FPS drops, no matter what I do/change. I even tried to remove the atom, add a new one, and load the atom preset on it. Still the same issue.

If the hair physics or clothing physics values for the character ATOM are set high, this can also cause a drop in FPS. You may need settings that are appropriate for your PC's specifications. Trying the plugin linked below is one possible solution:

Try the pose in a blank scene, at least with a very basic enviro and the same character.
Also try with another pose.

Your goal is to pin point the origin.
Some pose cause so much physics jitter that you could wreck your framerate.

I'll try that when I be in front of my pc.

As an additional information, the pose was not giving any issues when I made it in the scene (by placing the character by hand). It was only when I saved the pose, and then reloaded it because I forgot to overwrite the pose in the timeline plugin (I switched to another animation so the pose was "lost")

You're using the pose system right, not the legacy poses?

You have two version of the poses. Pose presets, or Pose in the physics tab which is also known as "legacy poses".

You should use the new pose system, it's more reliable, and you can ignore the root bone position, which allows much more flexible loads.
The "I never had problem" is true... up until you have some ;)

Sure will do! But how can I fix the issue I'm having right now? Is it a known bug from the legacy poses?

I have the same in the new poses system sometimes.
And apparently I have a perf issue similar as this when I load either a pose or an appearance with the new nvidia drivers.

So I'm just doing what I told you and it goes away : )

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond! I'll try the reset/reload method and I'll let you know if it works. I hope my scene is not dead, because I spent quite the amount of time making it.

Np!

Your scene is probably fine, if it runs normally up until you load the pose, it should be no problem to find a way around.
