Do you know if there is a good plugin to use FACS (AUs) morphs with VAM?
I think that could help a lot to create good facial animations.

I have found this one: https://www.kineticmotive.net/
But the information there is very poor, I cannot even find how to buy/download, I have found it in another place:
But it's $50 and I'm not sure if it can be used with VAM

Why there isn't any FACS system in VAM if it's the standard for facial animations? is there any technical issue to create that?

  1. It's not a standard for realtime games, it's a standard generally used for high poly meshes ( at the moment ) in general (and mostly in cinema). Dealing with high resolution blendshape in a game is generally "hacked" through normals animations and other sorts of tricks. I was following MetaHumans really closely a while back and even them do not use FACS, unless it has changed recently.
  2. VAM was deved between 2017 and 2020, and polished between 2020 and 2022. This gives you an idea why it is the way it is.
FACS is just a set of values and data. If what you're linking is just a set of blendshapes compatible with a FACS implementation and is compatible with G2, they should be working with any compatible software.
No matter what you do, be sure to check licensing before using this in VAM assets.
