If your AddonPackages folder has grown past the point where you remember what's in it, this is for you. VaM Package Browser scans your .var library once, then lets you browse it like a local media gallery: thumbnails, search, filters by type/creator/category, and full dependency info for every...
This is a dependency resource used for my creations.
It includes a set of teeth, fangs & respective gum morph, similar to this resource, but updated. If you wish to manually implement this on your characters, you can, just follow the instructions of this post here...
VaM Backstage is a modern way to manage your VAM library. It keeps track of the packages you install directly and their dependencies, keeping unwanted dependency content out of VaM’s browser while leaving the packages themselves untouched.

About
Replace VaM's package manager with a modern and performant UI that has search and filter options. Keep selected packages and their dependencies save in your vault. Run a purge to delete all other packages. All inside VaM and its security restrictions, without any external programs or DLLs...
Just some thoughts and observations about community customs regarding large dependencies in published resources and duplication of assets.
There are three primary community norms/standards that I keep brushing up against, each one coming from the intention of being a good steward of the hub...
Hi, I was about to uplaod a character today.
After I learned how to package to a var i was shocked to see all the dependencies. I don't want to make anyone go though the trouble of downloading them all.
How can i reduce them? Pls help out a noob.
Those are the dependencies attached to my character:
Some doubts, just so I can finalize the process.
- I have a look that has custom textures and a custom morph and is already released on the hub. I'm trying to release a scene that uses this look. I got the textures to be "pulled" from the var, but the morph is "pulled" from local files. Is...
Here's what i notices lately from hub browsing..
There's many creators out there and also a mere mortal like me who sometimes, create some .var and put it on hub, then it's showing that it requires a dep that you didn't know "how come" and "why does it popped up as a dep".
Let's say when you...
Like many of you I started using VAM and downloading vars and dependencies, but within a few days I realized that this was resulting in two major problems for me:
1) My install folder was getting too big
2) VAM was taking very long to load/initialize
I thought about removing vars that I didn't...
Just noticed a dependency missing named HS.ID_Card.latest missing, as in not on the hub.
Unfortunately I couldn't find any creator/patreon, but my guess was HuntTingSuccuBus.
Problem is that I still couldn't find it on his/her Patreon. Of course I can just ignore like it doesn't exist, and it...
To describe my question a bit more, I basically want find out anything that need some specific var to be present in the "AddonPackages" folder. Like, one var can depend on another, a preset in the custom folder can depend on a var. But are there more places?
And what are the easiest way of...
Bootstrap your scenes' dependencies
Intended for scene creators, this plugin will supercharge dependency installation for users when creators include it with their scenes.
That doesn't mean it's not useful to users for scenes that weren't built with it in mind.
What is it and how does it work...
I. Automatic Dependency download (Recommended, fast&simple)
1. After dropping your .var into X:\VaM\AddonPackages, make sure to either restart or hard-reset VaM (alternatively, you can press on Rescan Packages in the Add-On Package Manager) - otherwise VaM wont register the new Packages you...
DependencyViewer is a script for finding all dependencies in the scene, and their sub dependencies. And downloading dependencies from selected scene, or from meta.json file in package.
Update 2.4 by initiative of @Dragontales, with additions in code made by him. Thank you!
You can scan current...
VAR INSPECTOR
CC-BY-NC-ND
What is it:
Var Inspector is a desktop application written in Python which will scan the save files and presets in your var and tell you where the dependencies are located
How does it work:
Var Inspector creates a temporary folder, unzips your var, then iterates...
I want to permanently delete some scenes and dependencies from VAM and stop them from showing up in the "Scan hub for missing reference packages" area of the hub. I've tried deleting from my files and deleting the package from the "Package Builder". How can I do this? or Can you even do this...
Do you prefer resources with dependencies or with files contained in VARs? E.g. appearance (LOOK resource), you prefer if there are fewer dependencies, even if resources were to duplicate, or rather independent resources (with respect for CC and so on, of course)?
Hurrah ? , this is a pretty cool feature you guys added.
Unfortunately I'm seeing wrong numbers in it, unless it's too early still and the checking is being done or something.
For example this VAR of mine shows 0 usage:
https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/slapstuff-audiobundle-pack.30837/
But...
Hello everyone,
I'm new in the VaM world, so there are a lot of things I still need to learn.
When I scan for missing packages, I have like 30+ dependencies which are not on the hub. Is there a way to find out which var package is requesting all of those files? I'd like to get rid of all of...
I've never uploaded to the hub before so not the faintest clue on how to do it right. After watching a YT vid on using the package builder I was able to create the .VAR file for a scene I've created. I then uploaded to the Hub only to find out that this scene contained 55 dependencies! Some of...
