What is causing this issue? (screenshot, not sure how to describe)

Sometimes the scenes are completely broken, I cannot event open VAM menu:
Does somebody know what could be causing this?

An extreme physics issue. Maybe check your session plugins.

I've run into something like this when High Quality Physics is turned on. Did you accidentally enable that? It can mess with your colliders but doesn't seem to offer any additional "quality" other than extra explosions. Make sure you have that turned off in your user preferences during scenes where two person atoms are touching each other.

If an explosion like this has already happened, it's nearly impossible for you to recover during your current VaM session. You'll have to restart VaM if this happens to clean up the physics calculations, at least from what I've experienced.
