Latest version (.18) had no issues on download.


The original problem was found with stock Windows Defender. I wasn't even trying to scan for anything, it just popped up and blocked the file on download. But the problem is no more with the latest build.

I added an update that should help you, but that screenshot is kinda strange. Do you have a lot of your vars unpacked or just some of it?
I may need to change how I handle things a bit to better handle unpacked content. Currently any unpacked vars are not considered/supported in this application.

I think it ran into issue parsing one of your scene files for references, like a reference was in an unexpected format. Try new version, it will skip any issues like this, it should work.

I added an update that should help you, but that screenshot is kinda strange. Do you have a lot of your vars unpacked or just some of it?
I may need to change how I handle things a bit to better handle unpacked content. Currently any unpacked vars are not considered/supported in this application.

• Exceptions/filtering lists for restore functions. Allows restoring all content from certain folders/creators.
  • Works the same as the backup filters, is an EXCEPTION so you will need to make use of the invert/select all functions to choose restore all content from one folder etc.
  • Creator/Folder exception lists are distinct between the backup/restore functions (you can switch between them).
  • Change the Checkbox from Backup to Restore and turn on Exceptions to use the...

How do you only scan for missing references? I checked the box for "scan saves\scene for references" and I checked all of the boxes for "scan local presets for references" but I do not see anywhere that actually starts the scan.

The main function of VAR Manager is to backup files you don't need at the moment and restore files that are needed (referenced in dependencies).
The functions "Backup Unreferenced vars" and "Restore All Referenced vars" scan all the vars for dependencies, and backup any vars that are not referenced or restore any vars that are needed from the backup location.
The "Scan saves/scene for references" is meant to be used with the above functions, but it also scans through your unpackaged scenes files for referenced vars.
This way if your unpackaged scenes reference a var package, it won't be moved to your backup location when using the Backup Unreferenced vars function and the scene can be used without errors.

I have thought about that for a while, but in the end I decided against addressing that issue for a few reasons.

• I don't want this app to modify var files in any way.
• Having many plugins has little impact on performance, as there are no images/thumbnails.
• Plugin compatibility is not always guaranteed between versions.

Yes it was "Restore all Referenced vars" function and also with Scan "Save/scene for reference". I'll let you know if it's working.


Some suggestion:
- scan scenes from only Folder that you choose (i know you can manually remove all of them but when you have +1000 scenes you can't do it manually. takes aegis)
- undo last movied vars into backup folder

Hmm, I wouldn't want to delete anything as all content is useful for different situations. You could change the look/clothing for a scene for example, add/swap out assets, etc.
If you delete a file then it gets removed from hub or something, it's gone forever or very hard to find. Honestly you don't sound like much of a VAR hoarder...LOL
For deleting items you could move/backup unused vars and then delete them manually from the backup folder.
