VaM2 Resource Categories have now been added to the Hub! For information on posting VaM2 resources and details about VaM2 related changes to our Community Forums, please see our official announcement here.

VAM 2.0

Currently you can get the VaM2 Beta if you are Entertainer or Creator. When we release the VaM2 Addon Kit, that will only be available to Creator level. The Addon Kit will require installing Unity as it works inside of that. The Addon Kit will allow you to make your own addons, like adding more Skins (textures/materials), Blend Shapes (morphs), Environments, and Objects.

I think the game changer will be the animation time line I love the plugin on Vamx, However the beta as of right now its not really anything more than a glorified pose system. Not really useful but adding a timeline even with limited resources would make this so much more exciting after playing with Vam2 beta for a minute it got pretty pointless timeline would allow for the funstuff which is the entire point without animations it's just a pretty picture nothing more. Still have love for the Creator of Vam and all the great artist who make this work excited but disappointed at the same time that the most useful part of the entire beta would have been a timeline system i would have waited months just for that and started creating animations. It's like making the guitar without strings really just pointless.

You can drum on a guitar.

What the beta was gonna be was clearly described beforehand. There was absolutely no surprise here.

As someone who actually plays the Guitar I would rather buy a drum kit for that purpose. I'm not going to argue the fact that this has amazing potential. Now maybe you did put a point across regarding what this would be capable of as a Beta Vs Alpha state and what the Beta entails however the Animation and recording will be the part that truly brings this software to life. I am very Excited about the future of this product. Have a wonderful day you beautiful people. :)

Dumb question: but is it possible to load / convert Vam 1.0 appearances? Will this be a future feature?

You might be able to do it yourself... if you import your vam 1 characters into daz, transform them from gen 2 to gen 8 then re-export them for vam 2. But it wont be a feature, you'll have to do it yourself.

Please, be careful with statements like these, ensure you don't confuse people.
That person was asking for appearances. Appearances can be a combination of morphs and the amount of work needed to convert exported characters from VAM 1 is quite big/complex for a normal VAM user.
Be sure to be extremely transparent to avoid getting people overhyped.

I have always sensed that MESHED loves what he has produced. That is VaM 1.0.

Giving the benefit of doubt, MESHED has stated VaM 2.0 is a complete re-write. It may be that his new product does not meet the standard set by VaM 1.0. by his own quality standards. I don't know but that seems plausible.

From our perspective, VaM 1.0 works great. The only future upgrades worthwhile are improved animation creation and ability to use higher meshed models. That's all I have ever asked for. Perhaps better memory management.
