Suddenly can't open VAM

I've been an active VAM user for over a year. Today though, I attempted to launch VAM and it didn't open. When I went back to the VaM_Updater folder, the .exe applications and the .bat files (for running it on desktop mode) were gone.

I attempted to reinstall it, which installed it with the proper .exe applications and the .bat file, but when I clicked to run the .bat file, the screen went black (like it was loading) and then it closed. As I looked at the VaM_Updater folder, I watched as the .bat file just... disappeared. What in the world could be causing this?

Wow. It was that simple.

Seems insane that it ran no problems for so long and suddenly my antivirus was pissed AF that I was running VaM ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Glad I'm able to access it again, but is there a reason why VaM might suddenly have started triggering the antivirus?

Vam didn't change. Your antivirus updated and made a change that suddenly included Vam as a "bad program". I've no idea why, but it's not the first time that's happened.

This happened to me but I don't have anti-virus turned on that I am aware of. I looked at Windows and Malwarebytes but they were not set to do this and had no log of removal.

I have run Open Hardware Monitor for years to monitor CPU & GPU temps.
A couple of weeks ago my AV decided it was a security risk and blocked it.
It didn't even bother to ask even though I have selected ask first.
I bet if your AV removed it and you have it set to quarantine, the updater and bat file are still on yout computer.
Also it might help to run those files as Admin
