• Hi Guest!

Please be aware that we have released another critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.12 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

Details about the security patch can be found here.

Guides Jump animation workflow

Very interesting guide. Thank you for this. You clearly have a professional background in animation and it's nice to learn your process. It's extremely realistic compared to anything else in the hub.

You’re welcome. I can show how to pull a panty or skirt down if that is what you mean. For tops I usually only open the shirt to show breasts. If that is what you meant. Let me know in the discussion tab.
Yes, that's what I meant, as well as any other actions involving clothing that can be done. For example, some authors make it so that a character "removes" clothing, but of course, some kind of trigger is used for that. I just want to know how to make clothing automatically disappear/undress in a scene animation.

I can do that. Although not soon because I don’t have undressing in my current scene I’m working on. But the next has it, that would be sometime next month.

Thank you. Yes I worked a bit in game animation in the past.

I always assumed when there were so many frames in timeline, that automatically meant mocap was used, would have never guessed some of you animators were doing every minor detail one movement at a time.

I'm glad I'm not the only one on Desktop :p

Very nice video. If you plan on doing more, I'd suggest to show at least a bit the physical setups of your node. From my perspective, I immediately see you have specific setups, but for anybody else new, or not aware of the massive difference it makes, you could show it as it drastically change the final result : D

Thanks for showing us your process !
I think the weakest part in VAM are facial expressions, maybe we should create some "only facial animations" to import to any timeline? I was traying to create some of them copying real xxx videos but I'm not a creator, it's more difficult what I thoght to find the correct morphs for every expression

The more I got used to animating on PC, the more I stopped using VR as a creator. VR is to play only.
Once I made a test by doing the same 5 seconds animation first on PC then on VR. I did it faster on PC. The constant looking away with your head to the timeline menu, trying to select the keyframes, while also trying to keep track of the animation was just not for me.

Thank you. Thats a great idea and I will do that. Like showing physical node setups for different positions and how they effect alignment issue when a node is forced out of position and so on 🙏

You're welcome.
I forgot their names but there are 2-3 expression plugins where you can control how person reacts to different things, like penetration, touching... I even used one of them in my very old scenes. But at some point I wanted more control over it and left it out.

If VR was so efficient to work, all the industry would have swapped to it. It is probably one of the industry who look out and find better ways to produce. And no one, works with that :p

Yes but they are not so good, sometimes they are even scary (mouth too open, weird lips, etc), and the problem is bigger when we change the looks (maybe this is not possible to solve)

I find the scenes from @CuddleMocap and @DemonLord very nice for example
But they are very short, or repetitive.

That's why I was thinking in copying expressions from real xxx movies, and to make a library of many facial animations, we could combine and reuse them in any scene.
But maybe I'm missing something because nobody did this in so many years in VAM

Maybe the solution could be AI, to change the facial expression with AI in a future?

I even tried to animate in blender in VR, a software fleshed out for animating stuff.
It doesn’t work. It’s not a “you’ll get used to it” thing. Working for hours with floating menus out of your view trying to look around just doesn't feel right. Good ol PC is what it is for now :D

Thank you for this guide and congratulations for this animation which looks like MOCAP.
This animation is very interesting. I hope you will share it.

@ispinox This is an interesting guide, and now I get why your animations looks hmm.. not "smooth" enough?... or maybe it's just my thing.
Because:
1. Looks like you don't use key bindings (you are too good on pressing menu buttons, so I don't think it's only for video), I strongly recommend AcidBubbles.Keybindings for Timeline as a session plugin, I think it will make animating 20-30% easier (don't forget to save as default preset)
2. I newer use Shift to rotate controllers (only gizmos), maybe it's because I don't need to constantly see the buttons in timeline to control it. (I will try to use Shift).

(OpenUI Shift+t) <- opens timeline from anywhere, and I use "n" key for changing persons, because it doesn't know which to open.

I knew about keybinding but I didn’t know you could assign them to plugin buttons. Holy crap. Now I got to try it out. Thank you very much for this 🙏🏻

Thank you too for the compliment. Not specifically this animation but another one from this same scene I'm going to share this week. Just need to work on it a bit more
