Workflow for a 30 seconds animation - This is my workflow of keyframing a 30 seconds long animation

Before I did VAM scenes, I worked in animation at a game dev studio. A studio that still has top tier games played by thousands to this day.
Other people did the mocap, what our team did was, fixing clipping, collision issues and tracking errors caused by the mocap trackers.
Our job was to track the issues above and to key-frame everyting that looked not natural.

I never once even considered people using the floating controllers (Pressing T to see the green buttons on limbs) to actually animate, I always thought it would be too unreliable for positioning things. But now seeing you do it and seeing the use of them in action, I can see how much more human and realistic it makes the movements look. Thank you for this fantastic guide, you've actually inspired me to try make more use of them!
 
Haven't watched yet, but appreciate this guide. Wish more creators would demonstrate how they go about creating scenes. I bet there are alot of people that want to start making scenes but have no idea where to start or are intimidated by the process.

This is the reason why I shared this. I realized there are people who don't know where to start because it seems complicated. When you give them a starting point they might give it a go.

The plugin was very similar to the timeline we used at work. Maybe Accid Bubbles was inspired by it I don’t know. I felt like I was working :)

2 hours for 1 minute of scene... This is just insane amount of work. VAM should support more "out of the box", breathing, some person's state system. There are plugins for everything but not perfect and often don't work with each other well...
 
I didn't understand the "reposition tab" - is it a special function in Timeline? I get that it's somehow about transitions between faraway poses? But not what it actually is - a method, a safety technique that experienced animaters know, or a function in Timeline?

I named it wrong in the video. It’s the “pose” tab in timeline sorry. It’s basically to person on instant to a new pose. I often mess up stuff, sometimes leading to accidentally saving the current pose on to the original one. Then I go back one animation and copy the backup to the next one and continue keyframing. Sorry for confusion

You're welcome

Launch VAM in VR. Position yourself into the person you want to animate, you can also ''possess''.
Open Timeline, click ''more'' tab. Click ''record''
Select the limb in controls you want to mocap.

Click ''start recording in 5...'' When the timer starts grab the persons limb with your quest controllers or virtual hands an do movement you want them to make.

I hope this helps. I would like to record this for a guide but I have trouble when I try to record in VR

Yes its really simple. People just need to see the starting point or need a small push and the rest comes.

Hi pal, just wanna know how to control rotation while you click and hold the joint rig? I can just control position but don't know how to control rotation.

If you hold I think left control, it will control rotation instead of position.
