Question Hand tracking on the X axis using Oculus Quest 2

Struggling to learn this program in VR. I recently purchased Vamx and was going through their VR tutorial but when it started to get into the possession features, I was having a hard time following a long. Maybe the feature doesn't exist for Oculus Quest 2 but I can't extend my VR hands outward. I can move them only up and down, left to right. So when trying to reach out and posses a head for example, I have the leave the view, move and then grab the head. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting I am missing or is that feature just not available to me.
