I must be doing something wrong. I have many saves for each trained preset to fit match the woman I intend to swap out. They are in X:\VaM_Updater\Saves\PluginData\TBD\BodyNet\Networks\Custom, but I cannot get to them from the Morphs Presets, so I copy them into the folder holding the morphs presets, and I still can't see them when I'm in the morphs presets menu. I see that my saved morphs are .json, and my morphs I can see are .vap. I assume I did something wrong or failed to check a setting?

To get around this I'm redoing all the saves with those women and saving them again as morph presets. Is this what I was supposed to do?
Those aren't morph presets. The json network files contain the neural network's trained weights. Think of them as translation data between the target and source skeleton. Training your own weights is useful if you want to match multiple looks to the same bone structure, for example.

Please save your looks either as appearance or morph presets to use them in scenes.

Thank you for saying it, I'm sure there are many newbs who gave up because they used the save button, named it, then went looking for their save thinking it was a morph or appearance preset, but found nothing.

Yes, please use the scene that comes with the plugin. In theory, you could build your own scene but the plugin requires specific atoms and names.
There's also a Pro version of the plugin, which can do its' magic automatically when you change an appearance in any scene.
Not sure if I'm understanding this correctly, the pro version doesn't need to run the demo scene?

Yes, in the pro version, the scene is only needed if you want to train your own networks.
Please take a look at the demo video on the pro hub page.

Been using this for a while now with no problem, but ran into a strange issue recently, the girl's fingers suddenly get very messed up, example like when pointing or making a peace sign, any idea why? Tried the same scene/same girl without bodynet and the hands were fine

Uh, that's weird. Which appearance is this?
Does bodynet apply extreme morph values, far larger than 1 or smaller than -1?
If you dial back bodynet's morphs slowly one by one, does the issue go away at some point?

Does it happen again after restarting vam? Are there any related errors in the log?

let me see, the source was a girl I saved from a trashinator scene, the target is narumi by vam_grandfather
the values in the messages are like this:

loss: 26.18662
original body-to-head ratio 7.251287, new ratio: 7.845334, adjusting head scale
current ratio: 7.845334, changing head scale by -0.08571979
current ratio: 7.845329, changing head scale by -0.08571929
(etc, ending with)
body-to-head ratio after adjustments 7.409659

I don't actually know how to dial back or do anything with morphs, normally I just hit female replaced > apply > save appearance preset
Yea, it happens as long as I use this saved appearance on the scene I saved the source from even after restarting. no errors or other messages in log when using bodynet or playing the scene

Those are probably paid, right? I'm won't be able to test them. :(

Select the female and go to the "Female Morphs" tab. Tick "Only Active" and look for these morphs:

Do any of them have extreme values? Try adjusting them slowly towards their default value and see if the issue goes away at some point.

it looked like there are some extreme values, but I really didn't know which to adjust, randomly adjusting didn't seem to do much, am I supposed to freeze the scene when the fingers are weird, then adjust them?
actually, after that I tried a different version of the target appearance which looks exactly the same, and the finger issue didn't happen with this one. I wonder what was the problem with the first one I tried

but honestly, when I compared the scene with the author's character to the character (without BodyNet) I loaded, there's actually not much difference, so I don't think it's an issue. Thanks for the help though!

Maybe the appearance includes similar, but opposite morphs to what bodynet applied. I'm just guessing here. Very large morph values can cause deformation issues.
Bodynet doesn't morph hands in any way and I don't really know what might have happened here.

the first one I tried had a loss: 26.18662, the second one I tried which didn't break the fingers only had a loss of 1.something, don't know what that means but it's a large difference
with that said, I noticed that after using bodynet, this target character seems to become somewhat stockier/wider?, so I kind of prefer the un-bodynetted version
