VAM Only supports Daz Genesis 2 Figures and this tool will only work properly with Genesis 2 figures.

Version 2 no longer requires the user to have .NET 6 installed. All needed files are packaged into the Daz to VAR 2.exe
This makes the exe much larger but simplifies running it as a user.

This program has a folder called Assets. This Assets folder must be in the same location as the Daz to VAR 2.exe for the application to work.

This is a requested tool to Generate a VAR files from Daz Stusio's Genesis 2 figures. It will take Zip files or loose Duf files with a Genesis 2 Character and convert them into a VAM compatible VAR file.

To use:
  • First you must click the top middle button and select your VAM install folder. This is where your vam.exe is located and where the VAR's will be saved in the AddonPackages folder. The UI will not let you do anything else until this folder is selected.
    Step 1.JPG

  • Drag and drop all the files and/or foders you want to convert, or use the Select files button to open a file browser.
  • Step 2.JPG

  • Enter the Creator Name that you want to use for the VAR.
    Step 3.JPG

  • The Name of the VAR is automatically named based on the name of the file being imported.
  • Click Convert to VAR on the right.
  • All files will be processed and color coded based on results.
    • Green - No issues
    • Blue - Some files skipped, usually means some non-G2 files were included in the zip.
    • Yellow - A VAR with this name already existed and you choose not to overwrite the file.
    • Red - No VAR created. Either no Genesis 2 Character file was able to be found or some critical error occurred.
  • Click on one of the colored lines in the upper window to see details about the conversion in the lower window.
  • Time taken to convert is in Seconds followed by Milliseconds
  • Step 4.JPG

OPTIONAL Customization on the Converted VAR files:
There are 4 files in the Assets folder, two of which you can customize to your own hair, pose, clothing, etc.. for the imported VAR scene.
  • Save.json (for Females)
  • SaveMale.json (for Males)
Any active morphs in the scene will stay and will be added to the character for all future VAR conversions!
To modify, place the save you want to modify into your VAM Saves/scenes folder and load it into VAM. Change any thing you want every VAR you make to always have and the re-save and replace the one in the Assets folder that comes with the app.
Any active morphs in the scene will stay and will be added to the character for all future VAR conversions!
Be careful with the Male save file, by default VAM does not use the base genesis male model but always has the Michal 6 morph applied. This morph has to be turned off in the save or it will make any imported male morphs look wrong.
Any active morphs in the scene will stay and will be added to the character for all future VAR conversions!

Helpful hints for converting your own Daz Characters :
  • Morph a Genesis 2 figure in Daz Studio to your preferences.
  • Click Save As > Character Preset and save and name your characters *. DUF file.
  • Add the duf file to Daz to VAR to convert to a VAR.
  • You now have the figure and textures in VAM

  • If you want multiple skins presets as well, change the skin on your character in Daz
  • Click Save As > Material Preset to save out universal material presets. Material presets work an any g2 figure so you can use the same set as a source for future Character presets.
  • Drag and drop your Character and Material Duf files into the same zip fle.
  • Add the zip file to Daz to VAR to make a VAR with Skin presets for each material file.
