Body Weight

Body Weight exposes joint mass values for adjustment by region, and includes default settings which distribute mass somewhat realistically for a total of 60 kg (it's the same for both genders). The resulting physics should look more natural compared to vanilla VAM where the overall body mass is just 27.4 kg and distributed unrealistically. With Body Weight, body parts have a more appropriate weight due to gravity and a more realistic amount of inertia.

Scale the overall mass with the mass multiplier slider in order to adapt the same distribution of mass for a different body type or different atom scale. The mass values do not automatically scale with atom scale.

The overall physics is of course impacted by the spring, damper, joint drive etc. settings which already exist in the controller UI's and which save with the pose. All existing poses are designed for VAM's default mass values for each joint, so you might find it useful to edit the joint physics or the controller positions and rotations when using non default mass values for the joints.

Breast and glute joint masses are not adjustable with this plugin - use Naturalis for those!

Save mass values with pose

1713777340476.png

This will save the masses into VAM's joint controls (chestControl, hipControl etc.), and the masses will then save with the pose and scene, and can be restored without this plugin being present. The saved mass includes the multiplier, so e.g. a chest mass of 10 kg with Mass Multiplier 1.2 will save 12 kg into chestControl.

This button is also a triggerable parameter.

IMPORTANT: By default, the mass parameters in joint controls have a maximum value of 10. The plugin unconstrains these parameters to allow values higher than that to be stored with poses, but loading those poses will still limit the value to max 10 unless the mass parameter is unconstrained! This means you need to have this plugin present when loading poses where the mass of any joint is above 10, or you need to have unconstrained the parameter by other means e.g. by using Slider Unlock by Stopper.

Great plugin! Yet another must have from Everlaster :)

I can clearly see the improvement from the video. Great idea.
What troubles me is the fact that weight, in real life physics, should not have any impact on acceleration or movements like this. It's a VAM thing and it's conceptually wrong.

A great plugin! Thanks for it!. You can use it instead of the Plugin "free the legs"(which is also great), specially in Timeline. Also it works for dampening some motions, without to have to change the main animation loop pattern. Its trully a great thing, and thanks for the triggers. It works well in Timeline.

Amazing idea. I can tell this would be essential for me, can't wait to try it out for dancing motions. Do you think it will also support a Save/Load Preset feature? (or does it already and doesn't show in the preview pics?) Thanks for all your work!

Thanks! I'm planning to implement generic plugin preset saving and loading in UXPlus's alternate plugins list module, it will work with any plugin and individual plugins won't need to implement their own preset systems. :)
