I've been downloading xps scenery and props and keep coming across files that cause VAM to choke. I assume it's the file size but sometimes it's a prop that doesn't need to be so big.
I just imported a hairbrush (which is hard to find for VAM) and it's nearly 5 mb.
My guess is the brush bristles are causing the problems but I don't know.

Is there a quick way to fix this?

I have blender and Unity but not much experience using them.

5mb is nothing, something else is happening

I'll try and get it into blender. I loaded the saved scene and it was still in there but this time it was working much better.
When I first loaded it maybe it was creating colliders for all the bristles individually.
I tried unchecking that and reimporting it but it was still slow. Maybe it took a restart to clean it up.

I have a rug made from DAZ dforce hair which is 300 mb that i load as a CUA and its not to bad.

uncheck convex collider and you should be good. Some meshes can't create complete convex colliders which causing unity to get very confused and lag a lot.

Yeah convex on anything more than 256 verts is no good
