Vam with VR Desktop is either 1fps or no controllers (video)

So I ran into this problem with VAM with my Quest 3 and Virtual Desktop a while ago that showed up out of nowhere, and after several updates it still persists, to the point where I cannot use vam wirelessly anymore..
I really hope someone can help me with this because playing it via wired link, which is the only thing still working with VAM, means I cannot use fingertracking and I cannot use passthrough, which were awesome.
Basically there's 1 modes to use it via vr desktop, natively, and via steamvr.
If I use it natively I will get about 1 fps even though the latency is fine (visible in video), also VAM is the only game where it does this, but if I use it via Steamvr then it doesn't recognize the emulated controllers, even though they are recognized in Steamvr (again visible in video), and they work in any other game aside from VAM.
Also in the video I show the settings, which show that the "show controllers" checkbox is ticked, so I'm not sure where else the problem could lie

Things I've tried:
Reinstalling drivers
Reinstalling virtual desktop streamer
Updating virtual desktop client
Hard resetting VAM
Resetting VAM settings
Starting steam before steamvr and VAM
Moving VAM to the root drive
Reinstalling steamvr
Taking out the batteries of the controllers and putting them back in while in VAM
Changing the "show controllers" setting to true manually in the settings file
Changing the bindings for VAM in steamvr settings (they were already set correctly).

If anyone has even the slightest inkling of what could cause this I'd very much appreciate it

I'm having this issue and it is absolutely driving me crazy. The only difference is I have Quest 2.

Have you had any luck fixing it?

I used Quest 2 and Virtual Desktop. It's been a few months since running VaM, but previously it was working fine running the exe through VD. But now, performance is horrible through VD. If I run through SteamVR, performance is smooth, but there are no controllers. I can see the controllers in the SteamVR menu, but switching to VaM and nothing!

Just found this comment: https://hub.virtamate.com/threads/h...performance-increase.34978/page-4#post-153525

Removed dxgi.dll file that came with the vrperfkit (VR Performance Toolkit) and that fixed my VD performance issue and returned my controllers to SteamVR mode (which means I can finally try out the hand tracking!). Did you, by chance, install vrperfkit at any point?
My man! that was spot on.... That worked, instantly.. Apparently I had installed that at some point, but probably just forgot about it, finally I can use vam again, thanks man

OK, I used to have this issue as well, and in case anyone reads this and is still having issues this is my process to run VAM, with my Oculus 2, using Virtual Desktop wirelessly:

Start VD, access your desktop.
First Kill Steam if its running (also check the notifications area as it likes to stay running when you close it)
Start Task Manager and kill steam here if you need to...
then... scroll until you find the 3 processes that Oculus likes to start called
OVR Redir
OVR Service Launcher
& OVRServer_x64_blahblahblah...

Kill all three, and you might have to kill a few of them multiple times until they stay gone (they like to restart each other).

Now open Steam, and the moment it is fully open click VIEW > Start SteamVR

Now it will send you to the empty VR space. Double click the oculus button in your left controller to return to your desktop.

Now Start VAM and VOILA! Controllers work fine and everything it tits, literally.

I don't go back into VR until it's fully loaded (you can tell because the little menu to show desktop screen appears in the lower left of the Black and blank VAM window.

Have fun Vamming!
