VAM on Linux

Has anyone had success running VAM on Linux?

I have seen some posts from a few years ago saying it actually works better than Windows. However, nothing more recent.

I tried it on Mint 21.3 and was able to get it to run through Proton experimental; however the screen is just black.

Would it be easier just to create a virtual machine running Windows 10 in Linux, and play desktop mode that way?

Trying to move to Linux completely, and this is one of the few things holding me back

Have you considered dual booting?
I use linux for everything but VaM and some heavy games, and dual booting would enable you to have both worlds rather easily.
