I have a lot of Assets. Like A LOT. And recently VaM can't see them all. When I go to Hub through VaM It shows me that I doesn't have assets, those actually are in my assets folder. Sometimes it manages to find them when I'm tryind to download something.
And when I'm using clothing menu for Persons - game doesn't show all clothes I have.

Probably a corrupted var (or more) that interrupts the scanning/loading at start. There are several threads with solutions, for example here:

or last post by stealthsonic here:

"Sorry for reviving this old thread, but I ran into the same issue while organizing my VAR files. In my case, a corrupted file inside one of the VARs caused VAM to stop scanning packages.

To check which VAR files are being loaded, open the “Package Manager.” If there’s a problem, you’ll usually see a red-highlighted VAR file right around where the scanning stopped. That indicates the file with the error. Try removing that VAR file and then click “Rescan Packages” in the Package Manager. You should see the rest of your VAR files load afterward (HINT: if you have a lot of VAR files, it should take a while to load everything, please be patient and wait!)

Note: You can also look for bad VAR files in the Error Log."
