Unity engine fuckery

So i heard recently that unity has fucked itself in its own ass. Which is raising some concerns for me about VAM 2. Will this have impact on development of VAM 2? Are we doomed? Or am i over exaggerating? Plz share your thoughts about this situation i am curious to see what others have in mind about it.
