I'm using OBS to capture footage of my scene, and it would be really nice if I could just hit a key to play all animation rather than hitting play in the timeline, rushing to hide all UI and waiting for the animation to get to the right spot before finally capturing. Is there/can there be a keyboard shortcut to play timeline animation while all UI is hidden?

A UIbutton with the triggers you need might also do the trick.

And you could add Vamtaco's "UIButton Keyboard Shortcut" plugin to UIbutton, it allows you to press keyboard key to press the UIButton, its very usefull

Well Keybindings was built specifically for this purpose: https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/keybindings.4400/

There are bindings for tons of things, including play, pause, navigating animations, navigating keyframes, scrubbing, copy/paste/delete etc. etc.

You can also use the CustomCommands extension (part of Keybindings) to map a custom action to a key, or use e.g. LogicBricks or ActionGrouper to launch multiple things if you want.

Wow, honored to hear back from you, and the keybindings plugin works like a charm! ?
