Hello,

I made some mocaps with the Kinect2 that I would like to import into VAM with Blender.
I imported the Gen2 Female into Blender using the DAZ importer.
I imported the mocap files into Blender in FBX format using the Retarget BVH addon.
I then assigned the animation to the Gen2 Female using the Retarget BVH addon and the animation works fine in Blender.
Then I exported the animation in BVH format to use it in VAM, and that's where there's a problem: when I run the animation in the BVH player, the character appears upside down with an inconsistent animation.
Apparently, BVH files exported by Blender can't be used directly in VAM.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

I am thinking of getting kinect2 myself, have you tried to use kinect2vam plugin?
I am really curious how well it works

Hello yasparukko,

I've already tested the Kinect2VAM, but it's not easy to use with a VR headset and the controllers in hands.
In addition, Kinect capture is very approximate, and the tracking of some bones is completely flawed: feet and hands that turn around, elbows that go crazy.
So, all these problems need to be fixed, and Blender helps solve them.
I recommend watching Royal Skies' videos, who has made a dozen short videos to address all the issues, from software installation to fine-tuning.
