• Hi Guest!

Please be aware that we have released another critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.12 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

Details about the security patch can be found here.
Import genesis 8 character(only morph) to vam(with pictures)

Guides Import genesis 8 character(only morph) to vam(with pictures)

The new forum software has limits on file types, including zips. Let's try this. I renamed the file to have .duf.txt as the last part. You know what to do with the .txt part. Never letting Windoze hide file types should be common knowledge. This only makes a minor correction on the foot position, but it matches the G2F T-pose better.

This pose is applied to the G8F figure. Leave the G2 in its default pose. Both have to be at 0,0,0.

I've forgotten how many times I've tried, the rigging is still doesn't adjusted in VAM,it doesn't have any problem in DAZ. I've tried uncheck the restore figure or restore figure rigging, or uncheck adjust orientation when adjusting the rigging, can someone help me?

It doesn't help anything. Model height is 100%, "19) Now let's adjust the rig (Edit - Figure - Rigging - Adjust Rigging To Shape)" is DONE. But you explain nothing at this point but it's done.
Aaaaaaand garbage. The model eyes are still poppin out and the hands are deformed too. This "tutorial" is nothing. Just a placeholder.
Incase you or anyone else ever runs into the issue of deformed hands, I found the solution that pertains to that specific step you point out.

What I did wrong was:
- Step 18, and then directly went ahead and did step 19.

What fixed the deformed hands in VaM:
- Step 18 where you set the minimum value to 0%, you then ALSO need to set the morph itself to a 100% applied state on the Genesis 2 (2) model, so that the rigging you do to this genesis 2 female, takes the morph (and thus the hands) into account.

After doing this ^ the hands are suddenly perfectly fine within VaM.

I have a question. Does DAZ Studio 4.23 no longer allow exporting morphs? Should I install an earlier version, or is there another way?

The term deprecated usually means it still works, but they may get rid of it in the next update. I'm running 4.15, which does not say this. They may have implemented a new way to do this, but I don't know for sure.

It doesn't matter anymore, I got an earlier version of DAZ (beta 4.16) and it worked.

So....I'm getting a geometry did not match error even though I deleted the eyelashes. Anything else I could be missing?

[update] figured it out. When OBJ Exporting, tick 'Filter Object' + select 'Primary Root' from Objects dropdown list

Not sure about that, I always use the following settings for both exporting Genesis 2/3/8 bodies, and Daz Clothes:

What I do i make all the nodes invisible I do not wish to export into the obj (click the eye icons in the scene browser)
For genesis 8 you are additionally required to delete the eyebrows or make them an invisible node (click the eye icon next to the eyebrows)
Other then that the settings above should work. (Daz studio 4.22 and 4.23)

So, selecting "filter objects" and then "primary root" basically only exports the core figure and drops everything else including eyebrows. Just deleting the eyebrows was not enough for me - I was still getting the geometry mismatch error.

Again I find this odd because in over 300 Morph/body conversions I've done from Genesis 9/8/3 down to 2, I have always use the settings I listed above and never had any issue with the eyebrows as you mentioned.
It makes me think there are perhaps alternative settings on your end that are incorrect?

Ah well, if it works for you, it works.

I'm sure there's something in my base figure that's causing an issue. For example, someone posted in this thread that they had a problem with dforce breasts and had to disable that. I don't have that installed, but he did. My trick of filtering by primary root clears all that out.

Before trying to fit a g2 to a g8 with problematic morphs, it's best to first export the genesis 8 model (base resolution, and eyelashes removed) you wish to convert, into an .obj with the obj export settings I posted above.

Then add a new genesis 8 model into your scene, open the morph loader pro, import your G8 .obj onto this base G8, Reverse Deformations to yes.
In the bottom right under parameters -> morphs -> left click the cogwheel on your morph,
select parameter settings and change the minimum value from -100% to 0%.

Apply the morph at 100% to your G8 model.

Top left, edit -> Figure -> Rigging -> Adjust rigging to shape, hit accept.
Bottom right again right click the morph cogwheel, go into edit mode, right click it again and select ERC Freeze, Uncheck "Restore Figure" and hit Accept.
Top left, file -> save as -> Support Asset -> Morph Assets (Or modifier assets if on new DaZ version).
In the Morph/(Modifier) Asset Save Options menu you open the genesis 8 dropdown -> Morphs and find the morph you just created, only check that, hit accept.

Add a new genesis 8 model into your scene, and apply the morph you just created/saved and set it to 100%
This is what you want to fit your G2 model to, this "all in 1" G8 morph you just rigged on created.

After that, you can follow the regular steps from the guide again

Do you happen to have a "bloated" daz installation? Daz tends to freeze up/crash when you have a significant amount of morph files.
I have no ideas how to find out that "bloated" installation, Imma find some way to fix this myself, I guess?
Also do we also have similar guides for clothes and hairs?

Daz is thrashing your cpu during that fitting step. Perhaps you have a memory or thermal issue in your hardware. I've done it many times.

yeah everything else is fine for me, fitting clothes, fitting hairs, I have been using daz been quite long time, just never fitting a character into another character like this, only this crash me so far

This *DOES* work for troublesome figures - thank you!
