I wonder if there is a way to make female clothing work on futa / male characters. Anyone knows a way to make it happen?

Not if you only have the vam clothing items.
What would be needed is the Daz clothing package that was imported into Vam in the first place. In Daz, that could be rejiggered to fit a male model, then re-imported as male clothing.
