Mxx submitted a new resource:

ClothingRipper - Tear SIM clothing into pieces that rip and fall off in real time

ClothingRipper | Tear any SIM clothing into pieces that rip and fall off in real time

Hey everyone. I’ve been working on this plugin that allows clothing meshes to rip open dynamically in real-time. I’m...

Mxx updated ClothingRipper with a new update entry:

v2 - Rip Sounds / Presets / Progressive Rips / Better Preview / More Pieces / Redesigned UI

Highlights

Rip sounds — plays a random tear sound on each rip. Drop your own .wav/.mp3/.ogg into the plugin's Rip Sounds folder, with a volume slider and a "Reload Rip Sounds" button. (Off by default so a first load won't startle you.)

Save & Load Presets — save an item's full settings and its exact cut (drawn/open/random) to Saves/PluginData/ClothingRipper/, then reload it in any scene. Each garment gets its own folder so you can keep...

Question of curiosity, I noticed the clothes fade away after being torn. Does this mean this plugin can't be used just to make small rips and tears but the clothes stay on? Like if I wanted to have a slash on a shirt but still want the shirt to be there, just now with a an opened chest, will this plugin do that?

Yes, the fading is optional. Being able to make holes and tears is one of the main use-cases. And unlike alpha textures, the holes here are physical so objects can actually go through it.

open cut slit (cloth stays on) is not working well for me. It is drawing properly but it is always ripping instantly/too fast no matter what settings i change.

At the moment, only the cut that fully detaches the clothing can be done with progressive rip. The open cut slit that stays on will always be instant. I can make some changes in the next version that also the open cut slit can have a progressive rip

That would be great if you can get that to work.

Mxx updated ClothingRipper with a new update entry:

v3 - Tear When Pulled / Animatable Rip Progress / Procedural Rip Sounds / Save As Default & more

New Features

  • Tear When Pulled (VR) — Arm a cut without ripping it, then grab the clothing with your hands and physically pull it apart. It tears where you stretch it and runs along the cut as you pull. "Tear At Stretch" sets how hard you have to pull.
  • Loosen & peel as it tears — Torn cloth goes slack and hangs like real ripped fabric (Loosen Cloth As It Tears, with Loosen Spread / Strength). "Unpin When Stretched" lets a...

Hey Buddy. I was actually working on a similar script myself, but you beat me to it. So I think it makes sense for me to stop working on this one and focus on my other scripts instead.
Honestly, I haven’t tried your script yet since I’m not subscribed to your Patreon, but from the GIFs I can tell it looks really impressive.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I probably wouldn't have continued if you released something before me either. But this plugin will be free in about a week, and I don't "own" this idea, so you're still free to release your own version! Who know it might do some things better than my plugin does :)

Thank you, my friend, for the kind words, but I have other projects as well. I’m just stretched thin between all of them.
I’ll take a look at your code, and if I see anything that could be improved, I’ll let you know. I’m not going to remake or publish your work as my own. But I can already see that this script is going to be amazing.
Right now, I’m busy working on a VaM companion. The script connects to a model in LM Studio: you speak with your own voice, and then the model replies back with a real human-like voice and natural intonation. It’s almost indistinguishable from an actual human voice.
The model can also see everything happening in the scene through the character’s eye cameras and side cameras. I hope I can finish it and release it today.
