Appearance Transformer

Plugins + Scripts Appearance Transformer

Hello @Clownmug, wonderful plugin! I'm using it in and up and coming scene, and it works great. I'm having a slight issue however, in practice the plugin works as intended and everything is fine.

The issue I'm having is that when saving and reloading the scene, I have to go into each iteration of the Appearance Transformer plugin and de-activate and then re-activate their assigned Decal Maker plugins. I have 5 iterations of the plugin. 5 different looks I am transitioning between. For each Appearance Transformer plugin handling their respective looks, I have to go into the plugin and then uncheck and recheck the Decal Maker plugin for it to start applying the textures again.

Hi @Omega.

Decal Maker is kind of buggy when using multiple instances. From what I can tell it seems like they all try to render on the same layer or something of that nature. It should be a lot more easy to work around than what you mentioned though.

You shouldn't have to reassign the Decal Maker plugins to get things back to normal. It should only take making a transform progress change for one of the Transformer plugins while the others are at 0% progress.

In the Appearance Transformer demo scene it actually has the same issue where the default girl's pink textures don't show unless there's a transform progress change. However, you should see as soon everything finishes loaded that if you just press the "reset transformations" button before doing anything else then the pink textures will come back immediately.

To workaround the issue you could probably implement a quick split second transformation with a timer or when the user performs a certain action. Just do like a 0.1 second transform from 98%-100% progress for your character's starting appearance at some point.

Sadly that isn't the case, I've tried this and everything else I can think of. The only way I've been able to fix it is by re-checking the respective Decal Maker plugin selections.

I've even tried completely removing all the transformer and decal plugins and then re-adding them, hoping a 'reset' would fix the issue - but it doesn't. I'm at a bit of a loss to be honest. I've tried everything I can think of but nothing seems to work. The only fix I've found is to uncheck and re-check all the decal plugin selections in the transformer plugins like before.

Is there anything you can do, or I can do, to fix this or find a work around?

EDIT
So I actually found somewhat of a work around. Upon loading the scene the character still loads in without the correct skin textures loaded. BUT. Instead of relying on the Transformer plugins to change the skin texture alphas, I am manually changing the alpha textures for each different appearance alongside changing the transform progress. The transform plugin handles the morphs, and I manually add triggers to change the alphas of the torso, face, genitals, limbs and any other extras which is more work but it does the job. I don't have to go in and manually uncheck and re-check the decal plugins anymore. Meaning, it's still "plug and play".
