• Hi Guest!

Please be aware that we have released another critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.12 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

Details about the security patch can be found here.
Workflow for a 30 seconds animation

Guides Workflow for a 30 seconds animation

Before I did VAM scenes, I worked in animation at a game dev studio. A studio that still has top tier games played by thousands to this day.
Other people did the mocap, what our team did was, fixing clipping, collision issues and tracking errors caused by the mocap trackers.
Our job was to track the issues above and to key-frame everyting that looked not natural.

People on here, discord or on patreon often ask me;
''Can you show me your workflow'' or ''how do you keyframe'' or ''Please make a tutorial''
Making a detailed tutorial video would take so much time. Instead I wanted to share my 60 minutes of creating a 30 seconds long animation. Video is sped up.

I built the environments and positioned the persons prior to this video.
The video shows everything I do. Errors and how I fix them, improvising with wrong limb placements, facial expressions, limb movements and making natural movements.

I recommend to slow the video down if you want to read.
Sorry,I forgot to properly adjust the text timing.

If you have questions ask them in the discussion section. I am happy if I can help

This is pretty awesome! It looks very similar to how I work, but with some minor differences. I've never considered turning on the controller markers. I might have to try it out to see if it helps with the process at all.

Thank you for adding this to the community! There can never be enough guides on the hub!

Wow.
Thank you to sharing this video.
To positioning and animate my scene I use the Quest 3.
I don't know how to use the desktop mode.
In the video you move the node very easy, like me when I am in VR mode.
What's command or shortcut do you use to move and rotate the nodes in desktop mode?

Thanks

Thank you too. I use the quest only if I have to do short walking animations.
To rotate the nods in desktop hold ''SHIFT' or ''CTRL'' and move the mouse.

As soon as I figured this out, I stopped using VR to animate.

Thank you Titan of the Timeline. I have been learning VaM for a few months now and am pretty good at plugins and animation patterns but the next stage on my evolution is timeline. Between Ascorad's tutorials and this guide hopefully i will get at least semi good ....lol Right now i am going threw Kitty's like 500 vids from her Pat and learning Voxta but i will get back to timeline here in a week or so . I might be bugging you with a question or two then. Once again YOU are my HERO ispinox thanks for making this

Impressive! Your animations look better than some mocap. I wasn't even aware they're hand crafted.

Thank you 😊 Most of it is hand crafted. Head is sometimes mocap via quest 2 headset.
