• Happy Holidays Guest!

We want to announce that we will be working at reduced staffing for the holidays. Specifically Monday the 23rd until Jan 2nd.

This will affect approval queue times and responses to support tickets. Please adjust your plans accordingly and enjoy yourselves this holiday season!

  • Hi Guest!

Please be aware that we have released a critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.7 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

Details about the security patch can be found here.

This GI aims to be as color neutral as SkyGray but at the same time give contour and complement spotlights that light from above. It combines well with epiLight (Lighting Rigs).

This package also has some textures and a modified version of the Vamifier plugin that I use in my scenes and packages. For technical reasons, it's a good idea to have it in a single place so that it can be used as a dependency by other packages.

Credits
epiGI requires SkyMagicLoader from MacGruber Essentials.

An edited version of the Vamifier plugin is included. The edit uses advice by hazmhox found on the forums. This package includes a set of textures from royalty free websites offering them with the appropriate licenses such as free-3dtextureshd and 3dtextures. Also includes an edited version of a leather texture by NoOC. An ottoman asset originally a Sketchfab asset by Visja Filip Rumin, first edited by MacGruber is included. The Colortone asset by unknown author and first shared by Tiseb is also included in the package to reduce the number of dependencies.

Instructions
Download it if it's required as a dependency and place it in your AddonPackages folder.

If you're a creator, load the GI as a subScene to your scene. You can control the intensity under the scene lighting settings.

This is the epi version of Global Illumination that uses MacGruber's SkyMagicLoader. The asset is designed in such a way that it works perfectly with epiLight (Lighting Rigs) as if it's providing a bounce of them from the environment.

It's an emulation of ray tracing that works in VR in the cheapest possible way in terms of performance cost. It's designed to give the character contour like some default GI sets do, but keep it color-neutral as GraySky does.

If you want a similar effect but less of it, try epiGIEmpty instead of the default epiGIMagic.

I wouldn't know where to begin without MacGruber Essentials.
