Greets!

I have been using VAM for a few days now and think it's great.
Instant physics that take hours in Blender, and animation ability that DAZ should be striving for.
When V2 comes out, it will be everything DAZ should have been years ago. Can't wait!

Anyhow,
I use VAM only as an animation tool, capturing and then adding audio and final post processing in AfterFX.
It can really do some great work, and I have only been at it for a few days.
Is there a place on this site to just share user created short videos for fun?
I did not see anything, and a search brings up the odd capture, but usually linked to something paid.

If not here, does anyone have a link to a VAM video showcase?
YTube has the odd dance video, but nothing beyond that.

On that note, how many users do you think are using VAM as an animation tool to produce video?
I think that is really what its strengths are, and V2 is going to makes waves for DAZ and IClone for sure!

Cheers, and thanks for making this available!
Jack

Haven't seen any threads that aren't dead like the official one apparently. Outside of this and YouTube, there's a whole video category for VaM on Iwara.tv. On other sites like rule34.xxx and Pornhub there should be tags like "virtamate" to go by.

Thanks, I didn't have that Iwara link. Some good work there.

I would have thought there would be something here. It would be great to show off VAMs video making capabilities and then discuss techniques such as post work, audio, etc.

Maybe it's just me, but I think VAM was born to replace DAZ. The VR part... it's ok, but I would never bother with it.
VAM2 seems to be a DAZ killer more than anything else. Am I seeing that incorrectly?
From what I have seen of V2, I may not even bother in Blender once it is released.

Currently I setup animations in VAM, OBS capture, face swap in AI, do atmospheric post in AFX, and finally audio in Vegas using a real actors fed through AI.
The results are better than anything I have done in blender, and workflow is magnitudes faster. The AI faceswap really puts things over the edge.

Looking forward to the V2 posing system.

Cheers!

Vam and Daz target different markets. Daz Studio is more about rendering still images with breathtaking lighting and realism. Vam is a real time animation tool with interactive capabilities. Daz has animation capability, if you don't mind rendering at a glacial pace. Daz also has no interactive capability while rendering. A few years back, some guy spent months rendering what was almost a feature film in Daz. Vam animates in real time. Vam is also specifically targeted at making adult content. Daz aims for *ahem* a broader market. I still don't think it will be possible for Vam2 to fully match the lighting capability in Daz Studio.

Yeah, I was with Daz since Poser 3 in the 90's. Even did some coding on various motion control systems. Oh the joys of windows 95.
I actually consider myself an expert in Studio, and agree with everything you said. One thing though, it lacks realism.
You can spend days tweaking every light and node and still waste your time. Better to use Blender or Maya bridge.
There are almost no examples of Daz renders that don't look like plastic unless you use AI face swap (which is how I do it).

VAM with a bit of careful lighting (mostly spotlights) and some post work in AFX to add atmospherics and you can do better than Daz easily.
I have heard the Vam2 is even better with skin rendering, so that should be interesting.
Either way though, you absolutely need to do AI face swap to get any realism.
I am using the video faceswap 1.11 from Tuguoba (local PC) and it is great.
With a 3090, I can swap a minute of 4K capture in about 15 minutes.
I also have the still image faceswap (same coder I think), and it is great for doing a test before running a full video.

Here is a swap of the default girl using a random face from thispersondoesnotexist.com (great resource for faces).
This took less than one second to generate on a local PC.
The difference in realism is ten fold.
Same with video.

So with VAM2 physics and better posing system, I think it will be a game changer for production.
I don't see it as a VR system at all - it is an adult film generating powerhouse with a quick workflow.

This is going to be fun indeed!

You are free to post or start a thread if you want.
"Other" in resources would also be a good place for that.

But remember the hub is not a video hosting service.
You should be relying on a service to share your videos (a mega account would do it for instance).

Cheers, will do that once I get a few projects done.

I tried using a video hosting site at one point, but it over-compressed the video badly. A file hosting service would probably be better. Preview stills could be hosted here. I have a couple of dance videos I could post.
