EasyVam submitted a new resource:

Loading and aligning your favourite Girl into a Scene. - She's going places now!

Loading needs to be done with Appearance Presets. Loading looks the old way via Select Root -> Load Look tends to screw up the Scenes plugin setup, Morphs and Poses. If you already knew this, skip to the bottom of this guide for some extra alignment tricks - there are some returning oldschool Vammers and new players who still have troubles with this.

Take a look at Varghoss fantastic video Guide or check the...

You may want to mention JayJayWon's Preset definitions , that gives a good insight on differences of appearance and looks presets

Thanks for the suggesting this awesome resource. <3 It really describes what affects what in great detail. It also shows how the "load Look" button was the only way to go back in the good ol' days. :D

I fear that this kind of detail is a bit out of place for this guide though, i want this guide and my recent dependency guide to be very simple and easily digestible for people that are facing the hellish learning curve of VaM. For the new and returning players, less can be more!

Detaching and moving the root node does not work if a Timeline animation is moving the root node. It goes right back where it was.

Thanks for this guide! I was wondering if you have an answer to this question: In sex scenes I download from the hub I enjoy swapping out females with males so I can create a gay or bi scene. Believe it or not this works 95% of the time with little or no problems. However in some scenes it won't work. When I change a female to one of my male appearances the female changes correctly for a second or two, then it reverts back to the female, with some odd remnants of my male look remaining. I can't seem to figure out why this is happening. Is it possible that the scene author set a female so it cannot be changed? Or is there something in Timeline that prevents this? Hopefully there is a way for me to override this somehow.

Odds are the timeline is loading an appearance preset. I generally don't like scenes that do that, for this very reason. It makes scenes harder to mod. What you have to do is find the triggers track in the timeline that's doing this. It may be doing a merge load, which is why some of the male morphs persist. Loading appearance and clothing presets from the timeline takes work to disable.

OK thanks, I'll take a look in Timeline the next time this happens. I didn't even know this was an option until now.
