• Happy Holidays Guest!

We want to announce that we will be working at reduced staffing for the holidays. Specifically Monday the 23rd until Jan 2nd.

This will affect approval queue times and responses to support tickets. Please adjust your plans accordingly and enjoy yourselves this holiday season!

  • Hi Guest!

Please be aware that we have released a critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.7 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

Details about the security patch can be found here.

Head Audio

“Name Space” By default this will say “Person”.
This will display the name of the currently selected Person Atom. You can rename it here as well.

”Volume” Adjusts the volume of the audio clip as it is played from the Person Atom’s head.

pasted image 0 (2).png
”Pitch” Changes the pitch higher or lower on the played clip. This can be used to make the Person Atom’s voice higher or lower.

pasted image 0 (3).png
”Stereo Pan” This works only when “Spatialize” is toggled “Off”.
Stereo Pan allows you to shit the playback of the audio clip to the left or right stereo speaker. Positive is Right, negative is Left.

pasted image 0 (4).png
”Spatial Blend” This changes the amount distance from the audio source affects the volume of the audio clip. At “1.0” the audio clip volume is greatly affected by the distance the player is from the audio player, the further away you are the quieter the sound. At “0.0” the audio clip plays at a uniform volume throughout the scene.

pasted image 0 (5).png
”Min (Minimum) Distance” This sets the minimum distance that the audio track will play at full volume. Increasing this value means that the volume will remain at full for a greater distance from the audio source.
Seen only with "Logarithmic" and "Linear" options of "Audio Rolloff mode".

pasted image 0 (6).png
”Max (Maximum) Distance” is the distance a sound stops attenuating at. it uses "logarithmic rolloff' in unity, which unfortunately does not work very well. MacGruber has a plugin in his Essentials package that helps to correct this issue.
Seen only with "Linear" and "natural" options of "Audio Rolloff mode".

”Delay Between Queued Clips” When you have more then one clip queued to be played, this will globally change the amount of time between the playing of the queued clips.

pasted image 0 (8).png
”Stereo Spread”

pasted image 0 (9).png
”Spatialize” Toggling this off changes the audio clip to a globally playing one. Meaning that the volume of it becomes uniform throughout the scene and not just localized to the Person Atom’s head.

”Loop” Toggling this on sets the audio file to be looped when played. Be aware that this is also tied to the trigger settings that play the audio file. If the Trigger is set to loop the audio file, this toggle will automatically turn itself on. If the Audio file is set to only play once when triggered this will automatically be toggled off.

ignore distance.png
Volume is maintained, ignoring camera distance to the audio source. Useful for background music or narration for example.
