Atom Move

“Name Space” This will display the name of the currently selected Atom. You can rename it here as well.

X,Y,Z Movement and Rotation are the same as standard Unity.

Assets aligned in Unity will enter VaM aligned the same.

Every atom in VaM can be moved or rotated by grabbing the atom in VR or by using the manipulator in desktop mode.

For more precise positioning you can click on the following units for each movement axis.

Or reset back to 0

”Lock” will prevent any movement happening on that specific Axis. This locks the UI Manipulators, precise positioning is still active.

”Snap” will round your current position on that axis to the nearest tenth of a unit.



You can also rotate to a specific degree by clicking on the following:

+or- 45 degrees

+or- 5 degrees

Or reset the rotation back to 0

X Position: Positive movement is to the right of the model, Negative is to the Left.

X Rotation: Positive will roll the model forward, Negative will roll the model back.

Y Position: Positive will move the model up, Negative will drop the model down.

Y Rotation” Positive will turn the model to it’s Right, Negative will turn it to the Left.

Z Position: Positive will move the model Forward, Negative will move the model Back.

Z Rotation: Positive will roll the model to the left, Negative will roll the model to the RIght.

“Position Grid Mode” Is a drop down menu to enable grid snapping within VaM for the selected Atom.

Three options are available. By default “None” is enabled.

“Local” can be set with the ”Local Position Grid” slider.

“Global” is set in the “Scene Misc” settings in the “Main Menu”

“Rotation Grid Mode” Is a drop down menu to enable snap rotation for your selected Atom.

“Select Align To From Scene” Clicking on this will turn all available atoms into semi transparent green spheres.


Clicking on one of those will align the position and rotation of your current atom to the target’s position and rotation.
