I recently bought ditzy daz's avatar gals and it comes as a zip with the files custom saved and meta.json, where do i put them? Im on linux so just adding them to the addonpackages doesnt work

Just drop the extracted files on your installation folder, which have both the "Custom" and "saves" folder. If you have a "Custom" folder inside the .zip, the files (appearances, clothing, etc) should already go to the right place. The same goes for scenes (the meta.json), they'll go to the path saves>scenes.

hi. The existing meta.json (which is NOT a scene by the way!) would indicate this may actually be a VAR package. There has been an issue in the past where browsers (Chrome, Firefox, etc...) mysteriously rename .var files into .zip, thereby breaking them. VAR files are technically indeed just ZIPs, although following a specific format, so a badly setup website can confuse browsers into thinking they need to "fix" them. Maybe you did run into something like that?

Try re-downloading the file using a different browser. You should probably hunt down and delete all the things you put in the saves and custom folders, and start over. The fix might be as simple as renaming the .zip file to .var. *Always* disable that Windows feature to hide extensions for known file types. That could be masking what's going on.
