What is the workflow to fixing a broken var file on the hub?

Problem: var file could not installed over hub

As example: https://hub.virtamate.com/threads/gisela-character-morphs.43807/

Doesn't contain a var file.
Only "Gisela.rar" with following content:

There is also a typo that prevents to morph being visible and the vmi regions are broken.
I fixed this and created a new meta.json and var file.

Should I pm the creator or is there a way to update the ressource manually?

You should message the creator asking them to please fix it. You can't fix their resource. Because it wasn't posted as a var, no license info appears on the hub. The OP did note that they don't log in here that often.

you can extract custom dir in to your vam dir, then create a new var, for your own use, you would have to manually select all the morph files for them to be included. Or you could just leave it in your vam dir if you don't mind doing that too. If there are other files other than the listed ones, make sure to include them, too. then go back and remove them from your vam dir. If you are worried about modding your vam dir, copy it to a new one, make the var, move the var to your addonpackages folder, then remove the copy installation (or keep it for testing or whatever)
