One important reason may be that Reallusion is expensive. But in terms of game developing, what are the advantages of models Daz Genesis series over Reallusion Character series so that Daz is adopted by VaM?
Part of it may be a whole world of content. The mesh and several skins, clothes, etc. could all be embedded in the game, with a proper license to enable doing it. Having a complete, rigged mesh to start from was a huge leg up, I'm sure. The gens are internal to Vam, but they probably figured on having to do that anyway. The fact that Vam is stuck on G2 long after Daz has moved on is an issue, but it's still a pretty flexible platform.
