What is the User Preferences 'Daz Import' screen for?

What does it do? I pointed it at a folder of daz assets, but not sure what to do now.
 
That's only when you import things from Daz Studio. If you don't do that, then it has no effect. If you import a character preset, it needs to know where to find the textures and morphs. Note that the license for Daz store assets and freebies does not permit posting them here, but you can use them on your own machine.
 
So - you mean I can import daz assets that I have on my PC? You said 'from daz studio. I'm assuming I don't have to have DAZ installed.
What is a way that I can import my assets into my scene?
 
Without being a Daz user, you would be somewhat limited in what you could import. I've imported character presets. I haven't imported clothing or hair, which are more complicated. If you're not a Daz user, you could be opening a can of worms...
