Hello there. Major (---> now tolerable just weird) issue. VAM worked fine last night (other than continual crashes which is a personal PC memory problem :p), but today, I couldn't get desktop or 3d shortcuts to load. I checked the folder and - wow - those executables have magically disappeared. WTF? I am 100% positive beyond a doubt that I did not delete them. If 'the man' was hacking my computer they sure as hell wouldn't waste my time on something so small and pointless. There haven't been any program updates that would delete these I can thin kof. I am not actively patron subscribed since it seems the current version has been abandoned, but I don't feel like uninstalling, signing back up to get program and a new key, then reinstalling. ---> so I did the core check on the VAM updater and desktop mode came up with IDP.Generic as suspicious by AVG security. I created an exception when prompted and it loaded up fine. I then loaded the 3d mode which prompted a steamVR update notice. I can load in 3d also but steam 1.22.13 is giving cranky prompts about waking up headset when before I could load 3d mode with headset off and use it like desktop until I put on the mask. Using rift 2, for what it's worth, and I haven't had it prompt me for updates anytime recently. The only thing I can think of is AVG randomly decided to hate on VR porn and throw my desktop/3d executables into prison for no reason (as both have nefariously been used for months without issue), and the reinstall put clone babies back in the regular folder. I can't even begin to know how to sleuth this. Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks for any insight into this weirdness!

This is absolutely not from VaM or key changes, and likely just your anti-virus going mental.
It's a good reminder to keep a backup of VAM, useful when your computer decides to become ultra-conservative
