Is there any standard documentation anywhere for VAM?

There is - right now - not a complete, official documentation. Ideally this Q&A forum and the Guide Resources will grow to become a central place to look for information. However, there are a couple of scattered places with help and tutorials:

• The VAM-reddit-wiki. In some parts it might be outdated.
• The guides-links channel in the vam discord
• It's also a good idea to use search in the vam-scenes reddit and the VAM discord. There are often discussions and question about different topics.
• There is a series of youtube tutorials made by JustLooking ForNothing that are a good start. And a few other tutorials by other people.
