The more vars packs you have the more performance decreases?

It seems that the more var packages you have, the more performance decreases.
I tested a scenes in a fresh installation and it runs at 60+ fps compared to the usual folder I use with tons of var packs.
It that the case?

Do you know in case if there is a fix or workaround? So far it seems the option is to just une one installation to check stuff and moving vars back and forward to the fresh folder when you actually want to play scenes.

Vars (overall) don't slow down perfs. Morphs and clothings do.
If you have gazillion of morphs and clothings you would have a way more impactful difference than having gazillion of vars with enviros.

BUT, having thousands of files to gather for the library, will obviously slow down your game.

I have gazillion of looks, do they count as morphs?
Most looks do have their own morphs, but as long as they are not preloaded by the program, it shouldn't hurt much. There's a box you can check in Package Manager under User Prefs. Any var that does have "morphs" in the name should be preloaded, obviously. Most looks don't need that. You can go through them one by one, deciding whether or not to preload morphs. It's tedious, but will speed things up. If something breaks, go back and check the preload box on that one. Preload means that the morph will be available from the Morphs menus, whether or not the character they came with is loaded. Appearance presets will load them as needed.

Yeap, looks tend to have morphs. If you're in the "gazillion" realm (so kind of a hoarder), then this is probably the reason.

From just my experience it's the size of the var's that could slow down older pcs?

Not really. A var size does not correlate with what's inside. A huge enviro of 300mb does not slow down your VAM... when a 50mb .var with 100 morphs will.
