My downloaded var has a much darker hair/eye/general color scheme than the screenshot provided with the purchase (left vs right). I've made sure to download all dependent files, but can't seem to solve this issue. Any help would be much appreciated. For reference, this is YaeMiko paid look by dnaddr.

Culprits could be your settings, lighting, post processing, shader and textures.

Crank up your settings (Open main menu at the top left of the ui, then "User Preferences"). I would especially try "Shader Quality" and "Pixel Light Count" for example.

Check the lights in the scene. You could change the render method to ForcePixel. Also press the plus sign as you would when adding an atom and select the tab "Scene Lighting" to check the global illumination intensity, camera exposure and ambient light color.

For post processing (that shine in the scene seems to be some kind of bloom) you can use the plugin PostProcessing from Moyashi. Although you have already effects on the left side i guess.

Check if the creator uses a custom shader and that you have all textures (especially specular and gloss slots).
